How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe couple that owns the place is extremly nice and helpful. Our morning flight got cancelled and they let us stay until the evening.
Like everywhere in Peru it was cold in the room, but the blankets helped.

Verified reviewVery nice lodge, the owners are a cute couple, they are very kind, attentive and thoughful. They are always available at all time if you need anything. We had to check out early for our trip and they prepared us a thermos of hot water for coffee and tea and bread at night so we could have breakfast. They reserved a taxi for us and Julio even waited with us on the street to ensure that the taxi pick us up.❤️ Breakfast at the terasse was wonderful, you have a view of the top of cusco. Breakfast was simple but eggs and coffee was great, butter and jam was excellent. You can easily relax on the terasse or balcony. beds were very comfortable. In gets cold at night in cusco but the 3 layers of wool and bed cover keeps you warm. Room very clean. Quiet, Safe neighborhood just outside of the historic center, but only 10min walk to get to the plaza. We were there in june and it was very festif in all cusco. Bring earplugs if you sleep early or is sensitive during that month I recommend.
Not really didn't like, but be aware that there may be a tax to add to the price on booking and there is a commission if you pay with card.

Verified reviewFriendly couple
It was a verrrry old fashioned guest house Once I had adjusted to the disappointment, in fairness it's not bad value for money and the couple was lovely but it's just not what I was expecting from the ad on Booking.com

Verified reviewWe had to leave early for a tour in the morning and they brought our breakfast to our door early so we could leave at 6am, it was so nice! They even watched our bags for us while we did the 4 day Inca trail hike. Cusco gets cold at night but the beds were comfy and cozy! It was so nice to see the moonlight and stars from the courtyard.

Verified reviewThe hosts were so kind and patient, helped us a lot even we don’t speak Spanish at all. The courtyard was very chill.
The hotel is located at an uphills, which made us feel exhausted to get there.

Verified reviewHighly recommend - we liked it so much we cancelled our other hostel for after Machu Picchu and came back here! Incredibly kind and welcoming couple who own the place, they didn’t speak any English and our Spanish is limited but that wasn’t a problem. Really nice breakfast cooked for you as you arrived for your breakfast slot - eggs, bread, jam, fresh juice & coffee. Rooms clean, a little dated but made it feel more authentic, our second room we had was nice and spacious, Supern location to get to the centre, 5 mins walk. Loved our stay here!!

Verified reviewWe loved this place, it felt almost a little like a home stay. The couple who run it are the most lovely welcoming people. I didn’t want to leave! Delicious eggs, bread, jam, juice and a strong coffee in the morning was perfect. Best place we’ve stayed in the two weeks we’ve been in Peru.
Can’t fault it

Verified reviewA really nice couple run this property. They are fantastic! It's like staying at your Peruvian grandparents house. Key items to know: - Quiet at night - Always has hot water - Comfortable bed - Extra blankets available (No heating like everywhere)
It's in a small alley. Your Uber may have issues finding it. (Mine did) Use the hotel name not the address.

Verified reviewEverything! The hosts are wonderfully welcoming and kind. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds. The location is good for accessing Cusco old town, but just off the busier roads so nice and quiet at night. The breakfast was nice. Great value for money.
Nothing.

Verified reviewNice and comfortable rooms, quiet, easily walkable location in Cusco. Staff was very nice (be ready to speak Spanish only). Breakfast was fresh and delicious, although quite light (bread, butter, jams, drinks). Some eggs and or cheese would also have been good.

Verified reviewThe owners were super friendly. I loved the accommodation. it’s very authentic and cosy. The room & bathroom is super clean. We stayed here for 3 nights and everyday our bed was made & the bins were cleaned. it was like a hotel service. The breakfast included is tasty bread, jam, butter, fresh eggs, coffee & tea. They serve it in their kitchen; also a lovely old room. I loved the atmosphere and kindness of the owners. It feels like a home. There is no heater but there were so many warm blankets that it made impossible to be cold! :) very comfy. best price/quality in Cusco!

Verified reviewThe location was okay, though travelers be aware that you must walk up a quite a few stairs to get to the hotel (not ideal if you have a lot of luggage). The street is only for pedestrians.
The rooms had lots and lots of covers but NO heater. I had to remove a couple of the heavy blankets to make it more comfortable to sleep.
