How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe got really lucky and our external bathroom wasn’t shared so we essentially had our own little unit. Breakfast was basic but included a piece of an omelette. The room was super cute and Fernando was incredibly helpful. We were also allowed to leave our belongings before check in and after check out which was super helpful. This is also located in the very center of the historic district which was super convenient.
Some of the finishings in the bathroom were broken eg towel hanger but this didn’t affect our stay at all

Verified reviewThe location was very central and bed was enough comfortable
The level of cleanliness seemed to be very very poor, we found several stains on the sheets and on the carpet. It was very hard to get hot water in the shower. We booked a tour with the host and the day after nobody was coming to pick us up at 4 in the morning since he forgot to inform his staff..luckily we called and texted him several times to get everything sorted.

Verified reviewVery friendly guy at the front desk. Rooms were clean and comfy, breakfast was good and it was only a 10min walk from the main plaza. Great value for the money! Wish we had stayed here for more than 1 night.
The showers were not super warm.

Verified reviewGood location, down an alley. Would have been a struggle but staff helped us with our bags so it was no problem. They helped us with information & taxis when requested & had good knowledge. Staff were very obliging & patient with me even though I pointed out a few things which could have been improved. I am one of those people who speaks up when I see something that would serve everyone better if it were improved. They also sent a taxi to collect us from airport at a reasonable rate which was really helpful. The cleaners were lovely & friendly. It felt safe. Our room was quiet & they upgraded us to a room with a larger bed on arrival for an extra few dollars. It was clean. We chose this place due to location, good sized rooms & because it has kettles in the rooms - we are BIG tea drinkers!!
The pillows in our room were two solid block memory foam which would have given us cricked necks. There was only one soft pillow so we had to share it. Mattress also memory foam. The blankets were like lead sheets - would have been MUCH nicer if they had light eiderdowns like the next place we stayed at. LED lights in the bedroom with no bedside lamps meant going from dazzling lights to darkness at bedtime. Free filtered water for guests would be a nice touch. Kitchen equipment could do with updating in my opinion. A one-cup stove cafetiere between the entire guest house.

Great to have a kitchen but in the photos it looks like it is in the room not a shared kitchen

The floor in the room was not very clean and bathroom slightly smelled. It wasn't a big deal though!

Verified reviewGreat setup with a large kitchen and living area on each floor. Huge market right down the road. Mostly really helpful reception staff.
The shower required some compromise between a comfortable temperature or a good stream of water. The common areas are draughty and too cold to use in the evenings

Verified reviewThe room was extremely clean and well furnished. The location is great, very close to the market and train station and walking distance to everything that matters in Cusco. Staff was extremely kind and helpful, the best we've met in Peru. We did our laundry at the hotel, it was easy and convenient at a fair price (beware that most laundry shops in the city have broken scales and will overcharge you)
There is a small window that connects with the next room and the light and noise is disturbing at night. Also there's a ceiling lamp that somehow cannot fully turn off and it stays on all night at very low intensity (You can see it but it doesn't actually illuminate anything)

Verified reviewVery nice and helpful staff. Accommodating to requests and were kind enough to hold my bags while I did the Inca trail. Gave great recommendations and cared. Bed is warm and comfy.
Wifi didn’t work consistently in my room. Hot shower doesn’t work consistently in all Rooms. Some rooms are a bit noisy and bright.

Verified reviewGreat value for money and a short walk to the main plaza. The staff were really friendly, the ensuite room was comfortable, and there is a kitchen available to use. Also used the laundry service which worked well.
The shower was electric so I could get it hot but not powerful, but it was fine to use.
