Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI didn't like the fact that there is only one ferry trip a day to the island
The staff was amazing. They did everything in their power to make sure that we were comfortable. Brian and his team were awesome

United StatesThe breakfast was ok... not too exciting or healthy, fried bread, vienna sausages in tomato sauce, and overcooked fried eggs with a tiny portion of fruit. I wasn't too happy that the owner required his staff to stage a controlled burn of their foliage on site while the guests were relaxing on the patio. We all got smoked out and had to leave the property for a couple of hours. The shower did not work very well. Either the water was scalding hot or freezing cold... nothing in between.
The view was breathtaking. The property is located steps away from a gorgeous beach. I loved the pool for cooling off and there were plenty of places to relax, work on the tan, and read a book. The owner arranged for the guests to go on a boat tour of nearby islands which was a special treat.

United StatesThis is both good and bad as i ran out of room above. Big beach has an abandoned hotel. We walked the beach but it was littered unfortunately with plastics that come down from the rivers during rainy season. We moved to Executive beach which was much cleaner and calm waters to swim. Our hotel was clean but needs updates to the shower faucet, tile areas and minibar. We stayed in their 2 bedroom option which was nice since our daughter had her own space and TV with english. Beds were good. HOWEVER, For $400 a night, i was expecting a little more quality but we are on a remote island, so I would compare it to a rustic cabin experience. The stairwell to the room and further to the beach need extra care to navigate without hitting your head or slipping. The other rooms were on the main area by the pool and didn't know about their conditions other than they looked good from a quick peek in. They had 3 snorkeling masks we borrowed for the next day where we hired a fishing guide to take us snorkeling, whale watching and troll fishing. No luck for us fishing but the snorkeling was great at the next island across and we were 20 feet away later from Whales who come to spon. We paid the guide $40 per hour and enjoyed 3 hours. I should have brought more cash as there wasn't an ATM but the super Mercado gave me for a fee the $60 they had available until the next day. We enjoyed our stay as i understand they have the best/the only pool at hotel on the island, but I did not research that. Many expensive homes under construction on the island. Not a lot of restaurants were there, but the last day I went down to the near by hotel to look for lunch and they had a very nice restaurant but said they were not open wed/ Thurs (low season?). With the Ferry schedule leaving at 3:30, you could do just 1 night. 2 days were plenty for us and would have been ready to island hop again.
We ferried Sea los pearls and had a great selection of food and drinks. Our high speed catermarin got us to Contadora Island in about 3 hours. We sat outside the boat as the inside may not have had AC when we were in port. Our boat on the way home was faster 1.5 hours and had AC. Arrival was a little rough as it was high tide and the dock was a bendable puzzle dock with a steep hill. If someone is traveling with disabilities, older or younger children, be prepared. On the way out, it was a completely different experience with no waves and the dock was level for easy exit. We arrived at Contadora at 10:30 and we're met by Carlos who put our things into the golf cart and we 3 squeezed in the back. We arrived at Isla de Mar and met Maria who told us our room wouldn't be ready until 3 but allowed us to change and use the pool. They offered us lunch of a chicken and pasta and I had grilled salmon with a potato puree. Very good. I was told by another guest that Chef Roderick was new to the place and a benefit. Breakfast was personalized & tasty. There was a menu that you can preselect dinner (6:30) which I did the first night for our anniversary. It is just the 3 of them who were there during our visit. Go in with the attitude that it is Island Time and you will be fine. He will prepared any catch from any fishing trip. We decided to rent a golf cart for $60 that Maria arranged to deliver for 5 hours. We went by the supermarcado (there are 2) which has the basics. I am very glad that I read a review to bring snacks and drinks before getting on the ferry at Foodie. We did buy more beer but brought our wine. We did have a snack fridge stocked as well in our room, but I was glad to have gotten what we liked. We return to our hotel for dinner and relaxing. The island didn't appear to have much night life so consider this visit a quiet trip. The second night we found a Colombian local restaurant that turned into a disco they said.

PanamaProperty and staff are brilliant, would recommend stay. A wider problem for all beach properties perhaps, is that depending on the the sea some plastic stuff lands on the beach
Beautiful place, directly at the beach. Very nice breakfast. The room we had was with sea view from everywhere. The staff is super helpful. It was our anniversary - the staff organised and made sure my wife got a brilliant romantic surprise. In general staff is great, they organised a cart or anything you want.

BrazilThe place is very well located, by the beach. The high point is the staff, señora Isabel was always trying to help, as well as Carlos. The place is clean and relaxed. The A/C in the room and the shower could be better, but it works. You feel relax in the place and the staff will do everything to help.

United StatesWe were told that outside Panama City, hotel quality is uneven. Our room had great wifi with a large TV screen with netflix, but the bathroom did not have towel racks for large towels. The shower was modern looking, but we could only use the nozzle because the main showerhead could not be adjusted and water went onto the floor. The handrailing on the stairs going down to the beach could use sanding, varnish or replacement. It is a little expensive for the facilities, but every place on the island has trade-offs.
Condesa Del Mar stands out for two reasons. The staff are great. Helbert, the manager, is attentive and speaks very good English. Luz, the housekeeper and all round help was always responsive and went out of her way to help. Bryant, the art consultant speaks perfect English and was helpful. Luis, the Henry were always friendly and helpful. The second reason Condesa stands out, is that has the best swimming pool on the island. It is beachfront on a cliff with a great view of the beach and tastefully surrounded by art work and palm trees. The beach is great. Your neighbors are palaces owned by wealthy Panamanians. No other hotel comes close in this regard, It is about a 15 minute walk to where most restaurants and the "supermercados" (tiny stores with the smallest possible sizes of any food or other merchandise) are concentrated. Helbert or Luz were always helpful in arranging a ride to a restaurant and would make stops at the supermercado. Everyone on the island has Helbert's number so you just ask them to call Helbert. We were met at the ferry with a golf cart. On our return Helbert took us first to buy tickets, then returned a half hour later so we didn't have to wait so long for the ferry in the heat. The AC and wifi were very dependable. There is a kitchen available to prepare food. Restaurants and food on the Island are expensive, so we prepared breakfast. I wish we had known to buy food in Panama City, because even fruits are limited and options limited at the island stores.

United StatesCommon areas were run down. My mattress wasn’t quite straight, but the bedding was clean and super comfortable. It was had to shower because the shower spray was all over the place. Overall it was decent quality for the price if you don’t want to spend $300 a night at other hotels.
The staff was great.

The location and island in general is very beautiful. Breakfast is standard continental breakfast with eggs as you like, toast, sausage, fruit, pancakes, juice and coffee. We also ordered lunch and dinner a la carte from the chef.. the food was great and we recommend eating on site.
