How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The only thing we were disappointed in was the size of the pool. It was more like the size of a jacuzzi, that’s the only reason I’m giving it an 8 and not a 10.

No GYM. Need to update booking website. Jacuzzi. There is a cost to use. The facility is available but cannot jump in an already functioning hot jacuzzi without pay. Need to update booking website. Noise every single evening. Forget about quite stay. Hotel host party/events every day/evening. No noise isolation in the room, sleeping and enjoy the blasting all night long. Not Westin standard. Hotel needs urgent renovation…2010 Westin style, as of today far away to be a 5 star hotel.

Verified reviewThe hotel is in a great location, beautiful, safe and very close to the airport. the employees are incredible and try to help you in the best way they can. They are super customer oriented. The room is extremely clean and the breakfeast is also 10/10
Well there were a couple problems: - I did not realize they did not charge my card but just blocked for some reason when I arrived my german credit card was blocked by my bank, they did not accept euros, money transfer or paypal!! or even debit card and the only atm close also did not work for my banks. So it was late, I was super tired and had to fly the next morning. This was a real nightmare. They also would not offer me a link to pay as they need at least 2 days to reflect the transaction, so super bad!!! I was able to solve with a very nice lady who was passing by and paid with her credit card and I transferred the money immediately through paypal. If it wasn't for her I do not know what I would have done. - They had here in booking that they offer Free shuttle from the airport. They do not have it! so be careful!! I wrote them many days before my arrival and they never replied!!!. I had to pay my taxi from the airport to the hotel but I have to say at the next morning I explained the problem and they promised to take this out from booking as it is not true and they paid for my taxi back to the airport as a courtesy for the problems, so all good. To be honest with all these problems I would have rated this hotel very bad but the personal was so helpful and nice and the room so clean and comfy that I reconsidered it.

Verified reviewWe liked that the room was comfortable, and we had a nice stay. The breakfast had a nice selection of cold, warm, and hot dishes. The pool area is very nice, and it was lovely to be in an outdoor space that felt relaxing. The Westin is a great location in Costa del Este. We would recommend this hotel to others and we would stay at this hotel again in the future.

Verified reviewThe quality of the staff in all venues is outstandig, highy professional and Panamenian cordial at the same time, they go out of their way to please you. One night we called the front desk because there was a party at the Hotel and you could hear the music, the volume was immediately lowered and the following day, the manager Ms. Carol Wong called to apologize and later sent some fruits. The buffet is one of the best you will find anywhere, both in variety and quality, it's amazing. The room very comfortable and sqeaky clean. The location in Costa del Este unbeatable
Please take notice that sometimes at different hours a smell of cigarette smoke is felt in the bathroom. It's not annoying, but it suggests that maybe someone is untighfully smoking in another room
