Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Punta Rica Lodge is definitely one of the best places I’ve stayed at in Central America. Rooms are very spacious and absolutely spotless (and very well decorated!). Staff was amazing - we got upgraded to a larger room and had complementary pick-up and drop-off to & from the main island. Daniel was extremely nice, gave us very useful recommendations, and he is an outstanding chef. Definitely recommend having dinner there at least once to try his delicious food. Breakfast is included and those were the best avocado toast and pancakes we’ve had in our lives. This place is a must! Very nice swimming pool and common area - with a sea view. Really hope to come back one day!

We can't say enough good things about our stay - it was definitely the highlight of our entire trip. Brian & Dan were incredible hosts who made the whole experience unforgettable. Their warmth, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality made us feel more like we were staying with friends. They went above and beyond in every way to ensure we were comfortable, well taken care of, and having a great time. The food was INCREDIBLE. Every single meal was delicious and by far the best food we ate on our entire trip. The property itself is stunning & peaceful. Within minutes of arriving, we spotted a sloth hanging out in the trees near our room. There were also red frogs everywhere - we saw WAY more of them just walking around the lodge than we did at Red Frog Beach! It’s a great central location & easy to pop over to other islands for excursions.

SwitzerlandI have extended my stay for 2 extra days and I did not want to leave anymore. It was hard to say Goodbye to Daniel and the beautiful paradise Lodge .
I am an hospitality expert and I have discovered Punta Rica Lodge by case. I feel very lucky to have discovered this paradise. The Lodge is beautifully designed and decorated in details and surrounded by the most beautiful trees and plants and flowers. Is it located on a small hill and had a private Pier where you can look at sunset over the water. The Rooms are huge and beautifully designed. The piace and the sound of the birds is mind blowing. But the BEST part is yet to come. DANIEL, of of the owners ( unfortunately i could not meet the second owner but hopefully next time soon), was not ONLY the most pleasant and kind and friendly person, but also a 5 star CHEF. He was cooking for us every eve ning offering a 3 courses menu that was mind blowing. Nobody from the guests wanted to go eat outside because Daniel’s food was surreal. His desserts were better then a Michelin star. The Breakfast was just delicious and offered different options, same for dinner. The hotel had a beautiful pool to relax. Along the walking path of the hotel you can spot the famous red frogs ( no need to look further). Sara was amazing and her breakfast was fantastic. The small apero before dinner and the common salon table was amazing so socialize with other travelers and as a solo traveler i never felt alone which was fantastic. If you still want intimacy the Lodge has also single tables. Home stay cozy feels like style. Well connected to the other islands by a short 5 minutes water boat taxi ride.

United StatesOur stay at The Lodge at Punta Rica was nothing short of magical! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the breathtaking beauty of the lodge. Every detail, from the stunning architecture to the thoughtfully designed spaces, was meticulously curated to create the perfect tropical escape. Whether we were lounging by the pool, soaking in the lush jungle surroundings, or unwinding in the beautifully appointed lodge, we felt completely at peace. The true heart of The Lodge, however, is its incredible hosts, Brian and Daniel. Their warmth, hospitality, and passion for what they do made our stay unforgettable. Brian’s passionfruit margaritas were absolute perfection, and Daniel’s culinary skills left us speechless—every meal was a work of art! We’re already dreaming of our next visit and missing this little slice of paradise (and Brian and Daniel!) dearly. If you’re looking for an unforgettable getaway in Bocas del Toro, look no further—this is it!

CanadaIt's a lovely place in a beautiful location. Daniel and Brian are delightful hosts, welcoming, friendly, and helpful. They've created a very comfortable and relaxing environment at the Lodge. The food was excellent! We looked forward to the delicious breakfasts each morning and enjoyed the three dinners we had there very much. It's easy to arrange transport from Punta Rica to wherever you want to get to and there are several gorgeous beaches and places to explore nearby.

United StatesI didn't like leaving this beautiful lodge.
I cannot say enough about this amazing place. The food is cooked by host and chef Dan and is five star cuisine. Brian is a marvelous host and has great information for things to do around the island. The place is so clean and comfortable with many details of perfection. The rooms are comfortable and beautiful; you will sleep like a baby and wake up listening to the sounds of the wonderful animals and birds around you. The pool is a perfect way to spend some quiet time or leisurely time. A trip to wizard Beach should be on your list to do and Brian and Dan are amazing at giving information and scheduling a ride into Old Bank. We will be definitely returning again as we love Panama and Bastimentos did not let us down.

United StatesThis was the perfect place to stay when visiting Bocas del Toro. Isla Bastimento is a short water taxi ride to the action, which worked well for our family. The food is exceptional, and the hosts were so kind and friendly. We felt like old friends in no time. The lodge is elegant and comfortable, and we would definitely stay here again!

The moment you reach this eco lodge you are welcomed by the proud owners Daniel and Brian. They are the perfect hosts and specialized in great food (breakfast, lunch and dinner!) and cool coktails. Nice to see how they connect you with the other interesting guests and make a real vibrant atmosphere in this lovely surrounding.

NetherlandsBrian and Dan simply understand true hospitality, comfort, relaxation and fun, which they offer their guests in a very genuine way, cause it's simply who they are. It started with a welcome cocktail and our room and all the other areas were amazing. They thought of every detail to provide happiness and comfortness, like fresh flowers everywhere, drinking water in your room and sufficient fresh linnen, including towels for the swimming pool. And, oh my ..., that pool! Perfect! So refreshing and right in the middle of floroushing nature. Trees, flowers and cute little frogs in all kinds of colours. They provide everything completely off grid, eco, with full respect of nature, without losing convenience. Breakfasts were absolutely delicious, as was diner. Since Dan is a chef and simply knows what is good, when and where. In our case: first two coffees, then slowly ready for breakfast ... ;-) And the desert creme brulee deserves a bigger than big recommendation! This place felt like arriving home, without the worries, work and obligations you have at home. So comfortable, at ease and relaxed, but also so much fun and taken care of, without having the feeling anything is too much for anyone. In full liberty and happiness everything happens and goes. It all feels like go with the flow. Also: we went to Bibi's on the beach and Coquitos Beach with Brian and Dan (Sunday Funday! :-)...), where we enjoyed cocktails, live music, great people of all sorts, and good pizzas. And they arranged a hiking and snorkling trip for us with Junior, to Old Creek and back, which was truly amazing as well (beautiful spots, fresh fruits and sashimi straight out of the ocean!). These people know how to treat you and make you feel, like you are on a holiday, with áll your senses! :-)

United KingdomDan & Brian's place overlooks the sea and is just a few steps from a lovely little beach with white sand and coral reefs on either side. They provide snorkelling equipment, paddle boards and kayaks free of charge. The house itself is impressive and the rooms very nicely furnished. Beds super comfy. The pool is a good size and nice and warm, and surrounded by trees full of birds and the occasional sloth or monkey. The food was fantastic and they make great cocktails. They also organised us a private tour to the Zapatillas islands which was idyllic, and they had lots of other great recommendations, including the easy hike to Wizard beach which is stunning and was practically empty.

Punta Rica Lodge is nestled in the Bastimentos island jungle, surrounded by beautiful flora (trees, colorful flowers) and fauna (amazingly rich wildlife). We loved our super friendly, open, fun and helpful hosts, Brian and Daniel, who have made us truly feel at ease and among friends in this beautiful place. Most nights we ate dinner together, since Dan cooks the most amazing and varied dishes, all from fresh, local ingredients, while Brian makes wonderful cocktails that made us feel at home and among friends, sharing stories, dreams and travel adventures. We loved the pool and the common area (living and dining room), as well as our amazing suite, the delicious and fresh meals and the smiles. Thank you. It was one of the most amazing experiences ever.

United StatesTo get a water taxi might be a little challenging if you would like to go somewhere else on time. Give yourself extra time if you fly back home on a Sunday or Saturday as water taxis are very busy. Also in Boca del Torres Taxis are busy and I needed to walk to airport as I could not get one in time.
The location and the setting is absolutely beautiful. You can walk to town even though parts of the walk is like a hiking experience. Brian was very nice and accomodating.

This is an amazing property and the hosts are fantastic. It was the most pleasurable place I have stayed maybe ever. Every detail at The Lodge is perfect. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly and the owners/hosts are wonderful. The property is fantastic, but Daniel and Brian take it over the top. Every meal was out of this world. Daniel is a former executive chef and it shows - literally the best meals in Panamá by a mile and some of the best meals I’ve eaten period. I cannot say enough about my stay here other than I cannot wait to go back.
