Reviews of Sunset Catalina

The hotel is centrally located on the main street, with an ATM next door and several restaurants and a supermarket nearby, which is convenient. The staff were friendly and welcomed us with an offer for a local excursion right on arrival.

The room itself was quite small and the mattress too soft for our liking. There was no hot water during our stay, and the shower room had a window with a view directly into the neighbors’ property, which didn’t feel very private. When it rains, the sound of the tin roof can be loud, and noise from traffic, chickens, and dogs made it hard to get a good night's sleep.

Location was fantastic. The restaurant below had tasty food for a good price. The bed was comfortable and was great it had AC.

It was loud. Not just the neighbours roosters, but you could hear people walking down the corridor and kitchen so clearly. The shower was cold (don’t mind) but it dribbled and had no pressure. Staff wasn’t really around at all. Went multiple times to try and ask about laundry but no one there. Wifi was very bad and patchy.

Cleaning woman exceptional after finding 2 spiders in room, killed them and covered hole in window.. Common kitchen excellent set up with gas stove. Respectful staff that were willing to work with our particular requests Secure entrance doors, sense of safety.

Keys were big to carry around Poor internet 😔 No coffee steamer for special coffees but across the street had strong internet and steamer.

Location

I couldn't sleep all night because of the thin walls. I could hear neighbors, dogs, roasts... everything around. A lot of ants in the room. Seriously I don't understand who gave such a high rating to this property. It's awful.

Lovely rooms, plenty of space. Super location and very helpful staff.

The kitchen equipment was very poor. Only 2 pans for boiling water. All but one of the pans had very wobbly handles and they got too hot to touch. Not enough space to sit in the kitchen and the balcony was often occupied by others.

It was close to many shops and restaurants. I reserved for 5 nights, I left after 2. They agreed to refund money for the I stayed nights.

No internet. No hot water. No spoken English. No shampoo. No place to put clothes or luggage. Tiny room. No comfortable place to sit in entire hostel. Uncomfortable pillows.

Comfy hotel close to the beach and every facilities you need

It‘s a nice place, pretty new and modern, everything is clean and works well. The kitchen is not super well equipped, but has the most important things you need. If you are you are a diver, the location is perfect. For surfers I recommend other places closer to the main surf spot La Punta.

There is no wardrobe or anything else to put your clothes. AND: There is no real outside area, like a garden or terrace. So there is basically no place to hang your wet clothes for drying. Or to put your surfboard. There is no real community area either, apart from the reception room with two small couches, that will be closed at around 7pm. So if you want to hang out, you can only do it in the restaurant bellow. They neighbors‘ chicken wake up pretty early and so will you! But that‘s fine, better than a noisy road, right? ;)
