How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Nothing at all to dislike.
The Hotel San Felipe is beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly located right in the heart of Casco Viejo. The room we had was extremely quiet at night. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were lovely, welcoming, friendly, and attentive. We really felt very at home. I'd happily stay here again.

Nothing it was perfect.
The hotel staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was huge! I’d highly recommend staying here we throughly enjoyed our stay.

There was only one rubbish bin which was in the bathroom and no full length mirror. But really not an issue. Really loved our stay. And the rooms were lovely and really clean and comfortable.
Loved the staff - nothing was too much trouble. Great location and the beds are fantastic. Beautifully well appointed.

Breakfast was just average in terms of service, selection, and quality/taste. In fact, I went to other places for breakfast during the rest of my stay.
Location is perfect to explore the Casco Viejo area. Lots of restaurants, bars and historical buildings within walking distance. Staff was super helpful at all times. The room is big, clean and very comfortable.

My towels were never switched out in 3 days. I know, why didn’t I say something? The first day, I asked attendant to come back in 30 minutes (never did), the second day I figured oh they just missed it, no problem. The third day, was like I’m leaving now. Weird though, they switched out the towels. All that said, the hotel awesomely appointed, comfortable, great location and I would definitely stay again.
Location and rooms were great. Stayed in June, balcony overlooked the street and we were able to watch 2 parades! Awesome!

My only complaint, and that’s just me- I’m allergic to certain smells/ingredients in scented anything. The lobby had an overwhelming smell of something, I cannot put my finger on. It was probably an automatic room spray, or cleaning agent? Not sure, but my eyes will start watering every time I was there. And it didn’t even smell that good. That’s all.
Such friendly and helpful stuff! Great location in the centre of old city. Our room was huge, we were facing the courtyard. Very comfortable bed and sheets. We were pleasantly surprised.

The safe in our room didn't work, and the noise of the street both day and night could be off-putting for some people.
Beautiful modern hotel in a historic building and very comfortable room. They gave us a special welcome on the first night of our honeymoon. Location is absolutely perfect. Our room looked out onto the street which we enjoyed.

Everything. This property was amazing. From the location, to the rooms, to the staff, everything was great. Thank you to Daniel, who greeted us with a smile once checking in & out. The rooftop was great, the restaurant had some of the best food we ate while being in Panama. When we return, we will definitely be staying here again.

1. The hotel did not really include sufficient soap / shampoo and so I bought my own and 2. for June "pride month" they decorated the hotel with related decorations and this may make some uncomfortable.
The hotel is excellently located in the Casco Viejo, just two blocks away from the cathedral and central plaza. Two blocks away is also the Panama Canal Museum. The room was also very large and very comfortable, with a great balcony. The room was also quiet and the air condition worked beautifully. I was also surprised by the spaciousness and cleanliness of the room and hotel.
