The accommodation is in a spectacular location with views over the nearby mountains and a perfect angle for catching the sunset from the terrace. The area is very quiet, there are hiking trails nearby and you are right out in nature. Rooms are basic but functional. I didn't come across any hot water in the shower, but it was so hot that it did not matter. There is a shared kitchen with everything you need to prepare meals. There is a nice coffee shop, a couple of restaurants and a mini market nearby so all your food and drink needs are covered. The host is especially friendly and he really helped me out when I had a bit of a difficult situation to navigate.

If you are the sort of person who likes boutique hotels, then this place is not for you. However, if you like a more rough and ready, natural experience, then I recommend.

Upon entering this hostel, I was immediately amazed – wow, wow, wow! The stunning view and the unique architecture create an incredible atmosphere. It truly felt like a retreat while I was there. There are enough activities available in the area, but unfortunately, I was unable to partake in them due to the constant rain.

The mattress was rather soft and I personally like a harder one.

The staff was super helpful, let us choose our own room and informed us about the region. 100% would go again

It got very windy at night but that is unavoidable in a valley 😅

    - Really super friendly owner - Fantastic view of Volcan Baru from the terrace with sometimes breathtaking sundowns - Excellent place to meet other travellers - Good starting point for a walk in the mountain forest - Beside the road to Chiriquì Grande it's a good place for a stopover on the way to Bocas (and there's not that much choice in the area) I would recommend a stay of 2-3 nights: if you stop for one night only you'll probably miss the beauty of the surrounding nature, a bath in the mountain river, ... For a longer stay there is not really much to do up there.

    - Facilities are basic but clean - If you don't have a car to get anywhere first you have to walk alongside the main road or wait for a bus - No drinks or food available at the hostel itself, but there's a few - small, really basic an very cheap - restaurants along the road and you can find most things in the small supermarket close by, you may put your things in the fridge and even use the kitchen.

The hostel is very special, each room is different, but all have an own bathroom. The view from the terrace is beautiful as you can see great nature including the sunset. There is a shared kitchen including a shared fridge. The owner is very helpful and explains the available attractions (including hiking options).

My bathroom sink was not inside my bathroom, but outside on my own balcony, that was not very handy. But I heard that other rooms do not have this „special feature“.

The place is good, and the price-to-value ratio is a gem. It provides stunning views of the volcano and a pleasant nighttime temperature conducive to a good sleep. The owner is a pleasant man dedicated to developing the place.

There are a few drawbacks. Not all rooms are equal, even though they are priced the same. The room we stayed in is not depicted in the photos, which I found misleading. In our room, the ceiling is so low that I hit my head on it. Additionally, there are iron bars supporting the ceiling, posing a potential danger. The elevated bed height makes every nightly movement risky, and I have hit my head five times and my back once on the iron bar. There is also an unpleasant dripping from the shower. I saw few of the other rooms and they seemed much better.

Good location if you want visit Los Cangitones de Gualaca and the waterfalls or just stop on your way to Bocas ( an hour away from Chiriqui Grande )

Very very rustic and the noise (road and kids)

Good spot for overnight transit in the mountains and you want to camp but still have a roof over your head. The staff are nice, it was clean and very good value.

It was a bit eclectic built on the side of a slope and I have some anxiety about sleeping in shanty construction

The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful. He has built the building with his own hands. The location is wonderful in the middle of the mountains. The views are wonderful and you have views of Boquete at night. It is very close to main road but the trucks were not so disturbing as you may expect.

The place is perfect. Maybe a little less comfort than in other places we stayed but you have access to kitchen for example. We were a little afraid that the 5y oldmay fall from the terrace if not attentive.

There were holes in the walls which means there were bugs in the room and it was very cold, even additional blankets didn't help. The sink was on the balcony not in the room. Wifi worked only in common area.
