How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewIn general, the apartment was clean and nicely furnished. However, there were several serious issues that made our stay very unpleasant.
First, the air conditioning unit is installed directly above the bed, which causes cold air to blow on you while you sleep—this is quite uncomfortable, especially for children. Second, communication with the host, Irina, was extremely difficult. She does not speak English, and her Spanish is very limited, which made it hard to communicate. The most serious problem, however, occurred on the night of our stay. The apartment was advertised as family-friendly with a clear policy of "no parties allowed." Despite this, there was a loud party in the neighboring apartment—also managed by Irina—that lasted late into the night and made it impossible for our family, including small children, to sleep. We contacted Irina for help, but she did not respond at all. To make matters worse, the next morning, after we had clearly expressed our dissatisfaction and left to a different location, we received an email from Booking.com stating that our reservation had been marked as a "no-show" and cancelled—by Irina. This appears to be a deliberate attempt to block us from leaving a review and sharing our experience, which we find deeply unfair and dishonest.

Verified reviewThe rooms were cozy and comfortable. Bathroom had hot water. They solved the TV and AC issue.
We took a while trying to settle into the room bc the AC had some trouble when we arrived and they were fixing it but it wasn't took into consideration by the owners to say we could check-out those extra minutes late, we paid an extra for a late check-out so we could use the pool but we used it to eat and get ready bc the pool wasn't that good.// We tried watching tv but it had no channels, also not connected to Wi-Fi so it took a while and at the end he changed the TV.//. We tried turning on the lights and it wasn't working, we connected the lamp, we touched all the switches and nothing, I told the lady and she came and suddenly they turn on, she seemed a bit annoyed she went all the way there for that or I don't know; the thing has some weird method to turn on, you connect it, turn on the wall switches and then turn on the lamp switches (confusing yet); A central light should be added.// The facilities on this side of Playa Blanca are absolutely boring. If you wanna just stay in the room and relax that's good but don't go trying to have fun. I don't even recommend walking at night because the beach is far away and everything is quiet and scary.// There's a pool that you can't use unless you're the owner of the apartment you're staying at. 2nd pool is the one where it has 2 water slides but is a fairly small pool when everybody around gets in. About the slides: the taller one is cool, 2nd one that has curves is hard to slide on as an adult, better for kids. There's that artificial beach/ huge salt water pool too, it's NOT even available to go swim in it, not for owners, not for invites, it's literally there only for the paid water rides. That was the worse disappointment for me. It's immense but you have to be crowded in the other pool.

Verified reviewVery spacious apartment with a comfortable bed and a big bathroom, friendly host, nice pool that you can use. The Playa Blanca beach itself was gorgeous and is only a 15 minute walk from the apartment.
No good restaurants nearby. In fact, the only (sit down) restaurant (Venezuelan) in the building/hotel was by far the worst we ate in during out 15-day Panama trip. We did not finish any of the dishes. The apartment is a bit old and some things are falling apart so it really needs to be renovated soon.

Verified reviewThe amenities around the property were pretty nice, a couple of places to eat, to drink and to have some dessert, pools were great, even though as a visitor you don't have a way to enjoy the big one, a shame
Air conditioner was pretty loud, and the TV was a really old model, also, sounds from the neighbors are really not avoidable in this place, so, be wary of those points.

Verified reviewThe apartment is very nice. If you only require the apartment and would like to swim in the ocean this is a good option.
The pool accessible from the property is salt water. Despite advertising that the property has the largest fresh water pool in the world. The water slide and pool area accessible are in terrible condition.

Verified reviewThe room was very comfortable and clean, the person who attended us was very friendly and punctual in delivering and receiving the room and the keys, as well the access to the pool and beach.
We would have liked more variety to eat in the place but you have the hotel options. There is a grocery store in the place and a super market at 4 kilometers distance.
