How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewIt was close to the center
It just had one toilet/shower (in one roome) for the entire hostel to use. Luckily it's off-season and not many people were there. But there is also no sink to wash your hands in the bathroom, hence one always needs to go into the kitchen Also the buttons on the stove were removed so you always had to ask the owner before they could cook
You are wrong. There are 3 bathrooms in the hostal. Two are for everybody to use and one is in the big private room. The only bathroom that doesn't have a sink inside the bathroom is at the terrace where a sink/tina with hand soap is at the terrace beside the bathroom. One guest notice that you were brushing your teeth in the kitchen, it was uncomfortable for both of us... well we didn't bother you but it has been a long time I have seen that. You could ask. And it is specified on your reservation: 2 shared bathrooms specificating one with sink and one without sink. No secret here. If you didn't have time or don't know how to read your reservation you could ask. I am alway here to answer questions and help my guests. A botton of stove broken last week and everybody else had no problem to turn it on. It is only the plastic part of the botton, the matal part is easy enough to use for everybody else. Beside, I offered help and you say "its ok". A better comunication on your part would have been helpful to you.

Verified reviewIts a good hostel if you want to catch the bus and sleep a night there as it is close, ether by walking or taxi which isn’t expensive. I can not say a lot about David as i only have been there for a short night.

Verified reviewHostess is nice and friendly Location Space Kitchen
Smelly dogs. But they were well behaved, lots of cats who minded their own business.
One of my dogs has a Mast Cell Tumor, not contagious but yes sometimes it has a smell if close by him. I have ordered his medication which will arrive within 3 to 5 days. He already had surgery but it has regrown back. Vet has not treated him internally and externally beside surgery which cannot be repeated yet. For his recovery, I have order medication which will arrive within 3 to 5 days a value of $420 plus $120 shipping. When vet here does not fix the problem, I try my best to reach other solutions. As Booking’s site says “we accept only animal lovers” and so far, guests have asked about his tumor out of compassion for Charlie (the dog) and wish him the best. Charlie is very well behaved and obedient; I suggested to step him away from you but you insisted and kept petting him. Charlie mostly stays on his own, sleeps a lot and doesn’t disturb anybody.

Verified reviewIt’s currently the best value hostel in David. Met a few cool people.
It wasn’t so bad for me, but be aware that the property has multiple cats and dogs. If you have pet allergies this isn’t the place for you.

Verified reviewReally unpleasant owner, screaming for making mess in a place which is really dirty (especially in kitchen, how can anyone cooks there…) and smells with cats urine (I love animals but this was very intense- like house your lonely cat aunt, which hates to clean up and is angry about loneliness). Although, is cheap so for one night you can survive. Not recommend
You piss the whole bathroom, curtains shower, garbage can on the evening and again in the morning the same plus you walked to your bedroom all wet leaving water on the terrace and the whole hallway and you just ignored that when I told you and closed the door on my nose saying "I just had a quick shower". Your quick shower made me clean the whole thing twice and came your wife, no problem with her, she is respectful. You are a disgrace.

Verified reviewMany cats and dogs have a bad smell, hostel is very unclean, the location is bad, hot in the rooms.
I asked you to take your shoes at the terrace. It is my rights and my job to do so. You didn't want to and responded greyrock. The other guy did, nicely and cooperatively. After you and all left on the morning the smell was gone. It was both: you and also the one beside you which was collaborative and moved to the terrace without arguments. Most people the are sick, smell extremly, snore very very loud, gets up at 3 or 4am searching and tighting up there luggage knows to use a private room or the hammack/terrace (terrace open 24/7); common sense based on respect. There is also men that piss in the shower, when a guest say there is flies on the curtain every time that is urine and I clean and change the shower curtains. Tgerw is a sign "not puas in shower and keep floor dry" still today one did it all. That is not cats and dogs; that is nasty human. Same with kitchen. Now, air conditionlng is to be purchase at $5 total. When it is too hot, people nicely pay $1 each and we put a/c. That night, the other were fine with fan. Those that sweat at night have health issu and need to move out the dorm if there sweat is too strong. It is shared room, if the others don't want a/c you can take a private room and that will remove the smell of the dorm at the same time. Some people up tight always use the cats and dogs to exagerate. Unhappy people, likes to critic. Hey why didn't you mention it while you were here. I am always cleaning. Now, wonderfully, I have tons of good guests that respect rules, and are civilized and know how to share.

Verified reviewGood location near bus station and down town
Stayed there for two nights. The lady who is running the place is a bit rude. Didn’t feel home since first minute
Javi didn't want to pay even in a reduce lower price. Didn't want to respect the checkout time and immediately became verbally abusive and I still did him a favor in keeping his stuff until the evening. When came back to pick up his stuff: He didn't say thank you and left shooting "drama, everything a drama…" (I said nothing, I stayed away and let him go). For those that try to stay here for free, it will not work, specially using abusive influence. Checkout is at noon and if you have any special request do it with respect and in consideration that your request might be accepted or not. Every hostel has their own rules and regulations and the checkout time is indicated in your reservation. Here at PaCasa, everybody pays evenly; it is fair to other guests and to the business. Some people think that they are overly special and while asking for a special treatment they don’t take “no thank you” as the answer. Javi busted of anger and tried to overrule me and it was difficult to keep him calm.

Verified reviewIt felt a little unsafe. I showed up late at night and just entered the house. There was no one to stop or asked me who I was before entering the property.
A guest took her little pet dog out for his little business. I closed the door after.
