How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewbeautiful, peaceful place. there's nice loungers next to the pool. the little patios are nice and have a fan, though the mattresses could be a little comfier. nice, large beds. rooms have fan and a/c.
the hot water didn't seem to work so i couldn't take advantage of the big bathtub.

Else and her team were incredibly attentive and took great care of us – the home-cooked food was one of the highlights of our experience. 10/10 would recommend and hope we'll be able to come back in the future!

Verified reviewLoved the boho-styled room and outdoor shower! Wonderful pool area. Service was excellent, but 100% in Spanish so bring your phone for translation if you need it. Lunches and dinners were wonderful, but limited. My friend has celiac and they allowed her to cook her own food in the central kitchen, which was awesome!
It was totally fine for me, but there's nothing much in the immediate area so it's really a place to go to relax, unwind and enjoy the beautiful view and tranquil setting.

Verified reviewBetsy is an excellent cook. Best dinner we had in Panama! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The pool was very nice and we enjoyed a very relaxing few days. We needed to change our reservation and Sigfried was super about accommodating our request. The room was very nice and clean and the linens and towels really nice! Pool towels were provided. Such a nice spot to get away and relax after touring around the area all day!!
There could have been a better selection of drinks in the pool fridge but we knew to bring our own snacks so it wasn't that big a thing. We were just expecting a bar. We walked up to the place across the street and found a full service bar there. We were alone at the place at night and that was a bit disconcerting as we were not familiar with the area. A TV would have been nice in the room to get the news, since it is super dark and windy at night, but we read and played cards on the bed so it wasn't that big a deal.

Verified reviewBeautiful pool overlooking a wide open country side area (the Pacific and Coronado are 20 minutes away)that was very peaceful and tranquil. The staff were very friendly and open to our needs. We had meals there all three days and they were well prepared and tasty. We would walk and meet the neighbors(we speak Spanish) which were happy to visit and then come back to the pool for the rest of the day. As mentioned by others, you will see many different birds coming by to get a drink and refresh by the water. Our room opened to the wide open country side and was very private. There are just three rooms here so you get lots of private space, it’s a very romantic place.
The internet doesn’t reach the two back rooms where we were, but the new owners who arrived the night before we left are up grading that so that should not be a problem soon. We got wifi by the pool and dining areas. We managed fine as it was.

Verified reviewThis property was nothing like the photos. They were not ready when we showed up and it looked like they were going to move their family members out of the rooms for us to stay. We did not stay, we left.
I have to say that I really do not think that this review is valid. You reserved 2 rooms for the night. Check in is at 3 and you came at 12. We had guests the night before and your rooms were not ready. So yes, people did leave from one of the rooms, the other room was already empty. And they both needed to be cleaned and prepared for your stay. We offered for you to stay by the pool and you could have had lunch. However, you decided to leave. We are a normal hotel and we follow the same rules as everyone else. I believe you are poor guests.

Access to the Villa/room at night was a bit dark. We used our phone lights to guide us. It’s only about 20 meters though.

Verified reviewBeds were comfy, the room was beautiful. Local staff was very friendly! The tub was amazing.
There were lots of ants in the bathroom when we arrived, by the time we checked out there weren’t any. The wifi did not reach our room at all making it hard to work at night. Commented this (the wifi issue) to the host after arriving but received no answer. The door that lead to the outdoor shower would not lock so we did not feel very safe at night before going to sleep. Would recommend adding more lighting at night so guests can have better vision when walking around the facilities, there are many thing you can trip on or hurt yourself with if you do not have a flashlight.
We are so happy that you enjoyed your cabana and your bath. I am very sorry about the ants that were in the bathroom when you arrived. We do our best to keep all bugs out but, in the end we are still located in nature and it’s hard to ensure it always. But, we always do our best. As for the wifi my biggest apologies. We are working to ensure that the wifi will reach the far cabana.
