Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesSomewhat outdated facilities, didn’t have an easily accessible platforms / playroom for kids - as a family-oriented resort, there were some abandoned houses that are part of the resort that gave a depressed feeling.
Expansive property located in the rain forest with a full time activity desk; very convenient tours, especially for traveling with a toddler.

United KingdomIris on reception very unhelpful for no apparent reason. We explained we were checking out at 5.30 am and she simply refused to engagexin assisting with some food for breakfast. After help from all other staff she then queried if we wanted a fruit box, which wax all we had suggested in the first instance!
Amazing overall ambiance. Iker our guide with brian on night crocodile trip were brilliant.engaging, very knowledgeable and warm and friendly. Clara on reception helpful and friendly..all staff in. Monkey bar very helpful.

United StatesOur door lock malfunctioned on multiple occasions. Need to emphasize not opening your balcony door, invaded by bugs at night but our fault for not double checking the sign.
Spectacular facilities and tours, epic location right on the Canal surrounded by wildlife and great vistas. Loved the hammock and the balconies, the safari vehicle outings and walking the grounds… Great wildlife staff.

United StatesThere are no other restaurants around the area. Ate at the restaurant on-site with meal plan (buffet). Food was okay but not great. Tours were a bit pricy for tourists.
It's right in the heart of the canal - lots of wildlife and activities. Room has a balcony and a hammock with the view of the Chargres River. Lovely rainforest environment.

CanadaDo not book the all inclusive option on bookings.com. it did not meet my expectations. It only included food at the formal restaurant , not at the casual restaurant or the pool bar. and it didnt include any alcohol which was pretty expensive at the resort with no other options nearby if you didn't have a car. The bookings .com all inclusive also had no actvities other then the night safari. It was not worth the money for me. Excursions are very expensive.
Location was beautiful. Saw a lot of wildlife. Night safari was nice. Highly recommend the zipline.

United StatesThe room AC wouldn’t go below 24C. Even after asking the front desk to fix it. So made for sweaty nights. And the food at the monkey bar wasn’t edible 🥲
Amazing view of the chagas river. Nice patio off the room. Black out curtains. Quality linens on bed. Nice thick towels. Comfy bed. The sloth exhibit was really good. We came during the quiet time. The menu in the restaurant was limited but good food each meal delightful pool - was perfect on a hot day. the night tour was fun. The shower was wonderful. Lots of hot water and no alteration in template. Beautiful resort. Spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly and helpful.

United StatesEverything is SO expensive. The breakfast is $24 and dinner is $30, no way we ate that much in food. And it’s the only option for breakfast. The excursions are also very pricy! The best was the zip lining for $55 per person.
The property was beautiful!

United StatesThe tours were pricey and the sloth sanctuary tour was a disappointment. Please provide a non-alcoholic beer at your bar - every good hotel offers this choice.
The buffets (dinner and breakfast) were wonderful, with a wide selection for every taste. Delicious! However, it would have been nice to have a non-buffet choice that was not just a limited bar menu, as the hotel provides.

NetherlandsThe facility could use more general maintanance for both the rooms as the facilities. Prices for both the (A-la-carte) meals, cocktails as the excursions are all high for panama standards, especially once you understand that all excursions are facilitated (/owned?) by the resort itself. I was there at the end of the high season but sun sets around 7pm and most / all resort activity ended around 8pm and after that there is only little to do on/around the resort property.
I really enjoyed my stay at the gamboa resort. The hotel location is as good as it gets, it's the best value for your money and the only proper hotel in the Gamboa region. The morning buffet has a very good selection and the food tastes great. The selection of excursions are hosted by young and enthousiastic guides. Some advice: Take the earliest monkey island tour and/or the sunrise tour for the best value for your money. Skip the Sloth Sanctuary and the Aerial tram and take one of the many (free) trails on the resort's property (With a good chance to see sloths & monkeys).

AustraliaThe room needs maintenance, but the balcony more than compensated for that; wish I could have stayed longer.
The room balcony with the hammock had peaceful views through the trees over the lake, the toucans rested in nearby trees, capybara wandering on the lawn beneath; breakfast was plentiful and varied; beautiful swimming pools areas; the landscaping of the large complex was superb; the view when entering the hotel has a memorable wow factor.
