How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Dogs barking in the morning. Also, it was tricky to get the air conditioner setting correct when the wind was blowing hard, as the wind did enter the room, pretty minor overall.
The entire staff is fabulous as well as the owner! The property is on the leeward side right on the beach with an area to lounge by the sea. The pool is great and there is a pool table, air hockey and foosball table. The bar area is great and they play music videos at least on the weekends. The included breakfast was fabulous every day...some days, too much to eat! It was also nice to have a kitchenette--outside. Bikes were available to ride around town. I used it daily.

We picked this property on a whim less than 24 hours out. Did not know what to expect. When we arrived we were promptly greeted by one of the staff who told us not to worry about checking in right away. Go get settled and we’ll worry about formalities later. We were then given a tour of the property which is adorable and quaint. It has a very family oriented vibe. If you are looking for a big touristy high end hotel vibe this is not it. So much love and care goes into this place. You can tell by how we were promptly taken to meet the owner Pachue! Who said we are going on a 4x4 tour of the Punto. After meeting the troop of furry friends we took him up on the offer. After a thorough tour of all that the Punta has to offer we came back to enjoy the incredible beach and pool and company. Thank you to the team and Pachue and his wife for the hospitality. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

It is a wonderful place with wonderful beach. The staff and hosts are heartfelt. We enjoyed the dogs, the turtle promotion. They did everything for our well-being. Muchas gracias!! ❤️

Water pressure and temperature control could have been better.
We had a wonderful experience during my 14-day trip to Panama! One of the highlights of my stay was the three nights at El Arca, where we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful beaches, cozy palapas, custom-made breakfast, and the attentive care provided by the owners. Their generous hospitality made us feel right at home, and I greatly appreciated the secluded setting, perfect for dog lovers and those seeking solitary beach walks. Among the four places we visited in Panama, El Arca stood out as our favourite, largely thanks to the warm and pleasant nature of the owners.

We arrived around 2ish in the afternoon and the staff was still trying to locate our keys. We had no problem, but they could improve this
The place is very original and allow people to take their own stuff too. There are freezers for you to store your things without sharing space with other guest

The beach has a steep drop from the entrace, due to the commercial sand extraction. Some buildings and constructions in the surroundings appear abandoned.
Ingreadients left for one to self cook. But it was fun.

Everywhere was excrement of the dogs, nobody took care. They wanted to pay us a different price compared what I booked, after a discussion the price I should pay earlier was okay. I am vegetarian, so I knew it will be diffucult with the breakfast thats no problem, but the amount of food what was offered was way too less.
Most of the employees were super friendly.

Service: The manners of the woman who welcomed us were way below normal standard. Room: the “room with a sea-view” did not have a sea-view, was terribly small and was not the one we booked online. No explanation was given on why they wanted to give us a different room.
We surely did not like the way the treated us.
