Liz was an incredibly warm and welcoming host. She made us feel right at home in her charming and cozy place. Liz and José are exceptionally great hosts. They treat you as part of their family, help you with a lot of knowledge and helpful advices. The accommodation is lovely and very clean. The breakfast is freshly made and very tasty. If you have any questions or need help, Liz and José are always there for you. We can highly recommend this accommodation and will be happy to come back.

Location was excellent, with comfortable beds and all the required amenities in good working order. Perfect for our 3 night stay. It’s a 5 min walk to a good size supermarket, 15 mins to the main ‘downtown’ Avenida with restaurants and the mercado. 3 amazing hikes to the top of the ancient caldera, and the butterfly farm is a must see. We were able to park our car inside their gate, and the home is a 15 min walk to access one of the 3 primary hikes in the area, India Dormida. Jose and his partner, Liz, are wonderful hosts, and made us feel like family. The breakfast is simple and filling, and we could use their fridge and also made a meal or two using the kitchen facilities. Jose and Liz are gracious hosts and Jose is very witty. They made our time there a truly fun and memorable experience. Communication was excellent, in English and Spanish, despite my spouse and I having very limited Spanish language skills. Local knowledge, tips, and recommendations on things to do in the area were great and super appreciated. Finally, Jose joined us on one of our hikes and he made it super fun and interesting with his knowledge of local flora and fauna. Jose and Liz treated us like family. Our room was spacious and we had a shared bathroom with them. This is an older home and you are staying with a family, so it is not hotel quality. But you will get a feeling of how native Panamanians live. unfortunately I was not feeling well one day, and they were very accommodating, giving me probiotics and offering to make soup for me. I felt well cared for. Breakfast was delicious, eggs and fresh bread and fruit.

Super cozy home stay with the best host. Liz; you are amazing! The home is super clean, the bathroom and bedroom are all you need. The location is also good, close to the start of the india dormidia trail and a short walk to the heart of the town. Liz even does mani and pedicures. Breakfast is basic but good. All in all we loved our stay with this family.

Jose speaks some English and we can communicate in half English and half Spanish which is superb for me to learn the language. He also accompanied us to two hikes (he said it’s good for his health), and that made our traveling very enjoyable. The place is half a mile from city center and we walked around even though we have a car. It is about a ten minutes walk to the La India Dormida trailhead. They have really good bread, butter jam, smoothie for breakfast, and upon our request and fried eggs for us. The coffee was excellent! We cooked some vegetables using the kitchen. The filtered water was excellent! They have a bird feeder in the court yard, so there are a lot of pretty birds showing up all the time.

If you are really looking for something to criticize then maybe that there is no AC, however temperatures during the night are completely fine with only the fan provided. And if you're looking for an impersonal hotel room this is not the place for you, meals are often taken together with the hosts :)

Perfect. Extremely friendly hosts Liz and José. Communication in a mixture of Spanish and English was no problem. Living the mi casa es su casa life, felt more like a homestay. In addition to the breakfast we could use the kitchen (coffee, tea, bananas) and were often invited to join for the other meals as well. José is also a knowledgeable guide and offered to join us on hikes. The bathroom is shared but there are only two rooms for rent and while we were there, no one else was using it.

It's not a 5 star hotel. If that's what you're looking for, then look elsewhere. It was exactly what I wanted it to be,. Panamanian.

Jose and Liz were the best hosts ever! Jose is a wonderful tour guide and made sure we were safe when hiking to the waterfalls. They made us feel very welcome in their home.
