Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.

Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

CanadaI can't think of a single thing to improve. Its very unique and special. Lovely
We stayed early April, it was almost the rainy season, the weather was outstanding. Jose texted us continuosly to coordinate our check in. He greeted us upon arrival, showed us to our tree house. it was dark so we didn't know what to expect. It was a super unique experience, the amenities were super nice, the bed was very clean and comfy. Jose was an outstanding host. He made himself available for anything, super helpful. They thought of every detail, like flowers on the table, the fridge was filled with drinks and snacks at reasonable prices. the pool areas was super nice, the river is across from the tree house, so you hear it always. I would stay there many times again, we actually changed our plans we had to go hiking elsewhere to just stay and enjoy the place. it had bridges over the river, a beautiful trail around the property in the rainforest. it would be great for kids.

A magical experience! The brilliantly constructed treehouse exceeded our expectations - comfy bed with mosquito netting, a lovely seating area to get the best views of the river and suspension bridges, beautiful, shiny wood floor, a closet to hang our clothes, a safe, and a cute vanity complete with a toilet. At night the sounds of the rushing river lulled us to sleep, and the birds woke us in the morning. In addition, we had a clean shower room and toilet to use on the "ground" floor, along with a well stocked kitchen and even wine and water in the fridge! We saw a coati (long snout and tail) also known as a zuto, walking on the rocks, and 2 river otters. In addition to taking jungle hikes over 2 suspension bridges along the steep gorge, we hung out at the pool area which had a lovely bar/gazebo area, comfy lounge chairs and awesome views. Jose was the consummate gracious host and best bartender! His Mai Tais and margaritas are the best. He was extremely responsive to our questions. One night we also hung out in the reception area, located high above the pool, to get fantastic views of the sunset, river and jungle. The only downside for me, whom mosquitoes love, was getting multiple mosquito bites despite wearing long sleeve and pants and applying repellant. Mosquitoes do not bother my husband so he was fine. Next time I would wear mosquito repellant impregnated clothing. But I would do it all again, it was such a lovely and tranquil piece of heaven. Thanks Jose!

CanadaThe shower temperature was quite temperamental and usually one extreme or the other- scalding hot or cold. Not the end of the world but a bit of a pain. We also learned very quickly that we needed to close the windows in the bathroom in the evening to help prevent too many insects from getting in. The temperature in the cottage was good in the evening despite closing some windows though and there was an AC unit if you needed to close all windows.
We had an absolutely dreamy location for our cottage (Cottage 3). It was so private, lush, and right on the river. The entire property is beautiful and so well maintained. And it’s a birder’s paradise! The cottage itself was very clean and comfortable and stocked with all the tools you could need in the kitchen. It also had a bbq! The seating area outside was very pleasant and there was a comfortable hammock for hanging out next to the river. We appreciated that the cottage was cleaned after a couple days in it too because it was easy to track sand in. The location is really great between some activities in Caldera and Fortuna to the east and a short drive to Boquete to the west.

SwitzerlandToo bad there is no restaurant on site.
Staying at a tree house was a real experience, we think it was definitely worth it! Such a private spot in the middle of nowhere, right by the river (it‘s pretty loud but you get used to it), cool jungle trail (about 2km), the kitchen area, … really cool! Also the staff was super friendly and helpful and organized taxis and laundry service whenever we needed it. Just be aware (should be clear when you‘re staying outdoor): yes there are bugs, noises, there seemed to be some bats in the tree when we staid there etc. But it was all very clean when we arrived! Hot springs aren‘t to far and easy to reach by taxi.

GermanyEverythjng‘s Perfect - maybe the mattress Could be exchanged one day. At the moment it‘s totally Fine.
We were three Nights in the Treehouse and absolutely loved it. The Treehouse and the Garden around it is even more beautiful than shown in the pictures and the nearby river is so calming and close-to-nature. You Can Go bathing in the river or in the Pool - Both beautiful Places. We loved the small details which made our stay so comfortable Like candles, ventilator, very good mosquito-tent, wine glasses, the bbq grill and and and. :-) The fridge is filled with Snacks and Drinks which you can buy and all relevant things Like Coffee, Sugar, Salt are there. The Owner ist very caring and you can arrange everything via WhatsApp oder Face-To-Face. All in all it‘s a beautiful Place close to boquete with its many attractions Like Hanging Bridges, Ziplinig, Waterfalls etc.

GermanyThat I only booked 2 nights. I could have done a week and hung out with Frank and listened to his stories all day.
It's hard to know where to start. This is without doubt one of the best places I've ever stayed. The highlight being our conversations with Frank (the owner). He is the real life Indiana Jones and took an afternoon out of his spare time to show me and my two sons around the property. We went swimming with him up river and over his bridge to the jungle. He told us stories which can fill a lifetime. I feel.honored to have spent time with him, an absolute living legend. He taught my boys life lessons I could only dream of plus he found a Fer de Lance snake on his grass as be was talking to us which my son's thought was incredible. Now when my sons show a weakness about not wanting to help out around the house or do any work, I ask them "what would Frank do?" This makes them get right to it. The pool is great, the cabins superb and the place is so brilliantly created with nature surrounding it that you will be stumbling over huge cane toads at night and snakes during the day. Listen to Frank, don't wear flip flops! Come for the views and the river, stay for Frank.

GermanyWithout a car, the location is a bit tricky. Boquete is half an hour (12$ taxi) away. There is a smaller village around (5-10min, 2$) where we went for dinner. However, we couldn’t get a taxi for the way back so we hitchhiked (which was easy). There is no WiFi at the treehouse, but at the reception and the other cottages.
It’s such a peaceful place … nothing than nature around. Although the treehouse is open all around, we felt safe and cozy, not even insects or anything were joining us. The upstairs toilet was very comfortable, and there is also a „real“ bathroom with warm water downstairs. Or just take a swim directly in the river :) the spacious outdoor kitchen is also a highlight!

United StatesThe landscaping is absolutely amazing! There is so much care and attention given to the property. The cabins are very private, and the trails are nice to walk on. Be sure to leave your windows open to listen to the river as you go to sleep. If you’re curious about the property and area, take the time to talk to Frank or Jose. They are generous with their time and you will learn a lot.

United StatesHot water heater in the shower was unpredictable and the long road to get there is not in the best condition. Both of those things would NOT prevent me from going back though.
My husband & I are in awe of the entire property, it was better than we even imagined! We stayed in Cabana #2, which has a view of the jungle and the river. The cabana is very comfortable, has great wifi, comfy queen bed, large porch with table & hammock, and is surrounded by an incredible tropical garden. The pool is amazing, located right next to the river, it's so incredibly beautiful and refreshing. The grounds are gorgeous, with jungle trails and lots of spots to chill out and take in the spectacular view. The real highlight was spending time with Frank and his dogs. Frank built the entire resort and he's an authority on living in Panama. He graciously showed us his private spaces, took us on jungle trails, and gave us tons of info on life in panama. We really enjoyed our time with him immensely. I chose Cabanas Rio Encantado not only because it's a stunning place, but also because it's an eco-lodge. Frank is invested in sustainable tourism and works with local officials to promote environmental awareness. For me, this was the perfect resort!

United StatesJust know that the area is buggy so be prepared and use bug spray!
Cabanas Rio Encantado is located in the Caldera area right outside of Boquete. The resort is located behind a gate and is very lush. We stayed in the treehouse and it was so much fun! The sound of the rushing river provides wonderful background sound while sleeping (not that it is needed because Rio Encantado is quiet). The treehouse is not for everyone because it is a bit rustic but if you are like us and love camping, the treehouse is the best way to camp. The pool area is really nice. We did not take advantage of a nature hike but should have. Overall, a wonderful and unique stay.
