Reviews of Casa Hostal Bouvá

We loved it here. Comfortable bed, fans in room, mosquito nets on windows and a big communal kitchen. Breakfast was included and was delicious, we got to choose our timings for this. Very close to the hiking trail starting points and only a short walk from the centre of town but most buses also drop off nearer to the Hostal. No road noise throughout the night.

The only downside was the bathroom. There was only one toilet/shower and this was shared between around 8 people which was problematic in the mornings and at night.

Lovely little place tucked away from the busy town center just a short walk away. Friendly owners and the shared kitchen was very clean. Nice views from the courtyard garden. You can get the bus to Panama and other places right outside.

we had to leave a night before because the owner was really rude to us. we haven't felt welcomed from the beginning. She has ignored our messages completely, even we have traveled with our 2 year old son and we would have needed her support with bed sheets. A total failure!

It's a small hostel about 15 minutes walk from the centre of town but close to the start of the India Dormida hike. A nice breakfast cooked fresh of eggs, toast and fruit. The bed in our room was really comfortable.

Great location close to the hike La India Dormida, very friendly host and nice breakfast (pancakes, scrambled eggs and fruit) To use the hot shower here is the tip. On top of the shower head move the switch to the black dot. But then the most important part. Don't open the tap all the way!! The water won't get warm because it's going to fast through the shower head. So open it just a little bit. The less water comes out the hotter it gets. And here you go...you will enjoy a nice warm shower :) For the price it's a comfortable room but don't expect luxury. The room is not sound proof so bring earplugs for a good sleep. The kitchen is great and free to use

It was how it was. Not the worst , but by far from the best. Rooms were small. Like really small. Breakfast was good.

The location is a bit out of town, but next to the starting point of the famous trail. And it was quite. The room was big and we had a Moskito net at the window and the breakfast in the morning was really good. The owner could help us with getting the right bus and with the hikes. We had a lovely stay.

Small hostel with only four rooms, all a decent size. WiFi worked well, shower was hot. Quiet street and close to certain hikes. Breakfast included was simple but filling and a nice perk.

A little far away from restaurants, the bus station and “town.” Staff isn’t there most of the day. Shared bathroom can be a bit annoying if other rooms are full.

The sheets on the bed did not feel ¨fresh¨. I believe I woke up with red bedbug bites.

Breakfast was lovely, location was good. Very close to the start of La India Dormida, and a short walk to the street with most of the restaurants. Nice hammock spot to sit and relax too!

The fan in the room is noisy, so you have to choose to ignore it or turn it off and deal with the room being a bit stuffy. Not too hot though, so it’s not a huge inconvenience. Showers are just cold water, so hop in right after your hike!

Lovely helpful staff, breakfast was always delicious and different everyday. The kitchen was really well stocked with kitchenware and also spices, oil etc. which was great for cooking. The space is lovely, chilling in the hammock after a morning of hiking was the dream. The location was great too. Would 100% stay again if I was back in el valle.

The owner is very nice and helpful. The breakfast was good and lady that prepared it was nice. The area outside of the room.

It was a bit dirty. A bit of painting the walls and deep cleaning would be great. The bed is not comfortable at all.
