How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewGreat lodge in a very nice surrounding. Lots of activities available from the lodge. Good food options
The service was very slow (like in a lot of places in Panama). It takes time to get to the lodge and the road is steep. Don't expect to see quetzal if not in the right season. I'd like to come back in the right season though...

Verified reviewWe stayed two nights to celebrate my birthday and booked a dome room with breathtaking views. The staff had beautifully decorated the room with flowers and a birthday card, which was a lovely surprise. Unfortunately, there was a water supply issue due to a fallen tree affecting the mountain source. Though we were offered a room change, we opted to downgrade the next day and appreciated how professionally the staff handled the situation, including a full refund and a special birthday dinner tailored to our dietary needs. The hotel is well-maintained, both the dome and family rooms were clean and comfortable. Two staff members (a male and female) were especially helpful—one even arranged our volcano tour and spoke excellent English. Breakfast was good, and though there’s no overnight staff (only security after 9 PM), we felt safe. If you’re driving, a compact SUV like a Suzuki Jimny is ideal for the narrow road leading to the dome, where parking is available. Despite the hiccup, the care and service turned it into a memorable stay. I hope to return and fully enjoy the dome experience next time!
Due to the location , the availability of staff like maintenance is limited . There is only security staff after 9pm. Rest everything was good .

Verified reviewThe place is astonishing. The landscape magic and the lodge also very well designed. The food is not good at all and too pricy. Better go down to Boquete for your meals. The activities are nice and well organized

Verified reviewThe area was nice but you can only paid adventures. Hiking as stated on amenities is not an option.
You can on do paid adventures to hike I had to leave the huge park. I stayed because hiking was an option. But it's not except for guided tours.

Verified reviewThis hotel offers an incredible mountaintop location, making it the perfect escape with ideal weather. The canopy tour guides were outstanding, knowledgeable, safe, and easy to follow. The rooms were clean and comfortable, ensuring a relaxing stay. The front desk staff was also exceptional; we checked in late, almost at midnight, and the receptionist gave us a warm welcome, just as every staff member at reception did throughout our stay. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to connect with nature!
The restaurant staff was disappointing. Two of the male employees seemed uninterested and had an unpleasant attitude, which was unexpected since my family and I are calm and friendly people. This was especially frustrating because it’s the only restaurant in the area, so if you’re hungry, you don’t have many options. You could go down to town, but it’s about a 15-minute drive, and at night, with the trail damp from the fog, it’s safer to stay up at the hotel. Additionally, the restaurant closes at 8:30 p.m., which feels too early given these circumstances—I’d prefer if they stayed open later. That being said, the rest of the staff was very kind and provided great service.

Verified reviewBeautiful facilities and location. Family cabin was lovely and perfect for parents and two kids (even two young adult kids like ours). Very clean and cozy. Staff was nice.
I should have listened to the reviews with regards to how difficult it is to get to/from. We had planned on renting a car and then changed our mind last minute. Getting taxis to/from was expensive and time consuming. While the hotel was lovely, I would definitely choose something closer to town next time. It’s also a lot colder at the hotel than in town and rainier so prepare accordingly.

Verified reviewThe amazing location, the zip line activity and the activity staff. The restaurant food was excellent.
The staff was so miserable it was almost uncomfortable. The restaurant and reception area were cold and uninviting. The family chalets we booked had metal roofs, making the noise of the rain almost unbearable during the night. Plan for earplugs!

Verified reviewGreat if you you’re planning to do the place’s attractions
Some of the rooms with the two double beds are facing the parking lot and the back of the kitchen so it can smell of food and be a bit noisy

Verified reviewThe location is amazing! The view is great!
- Arrogant staff at reception - Charged 10% over total price (tax 10%), which is ridiculous as total price was total price and not price before taxes. - The restaurant is open for dinner for 2 hours only, there were only 15 people in total, food took 45 minutes. It wasn't even hot. Very average taste. Most restaurants in the town are better quality. Chicken wings undercooked, check the picture. - Reception was closed after 9PM. In case of emergency you are on your own. - Hotel bar closed at 9PM and kicked out guests as the staff manager said "we ordered a taxi and need to go home". - no more fire place, so it's not cozy and nice in the lobby (check pictures before) - Increased price for hanging bridges + zip line from 65$ (both) to $95 (both). Almost 50%. - Only the location is still beautiful, but I wouldn't suggest staying here to anyone.
