How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Did not like that you can not sleep at night. Traveling with family and kids and all you hear is music blasting all night. Hotel provides you with ear plugs which is a big hint your not sleeping.

Verified reviewThe property is located in the center. Hotel is new and really nice, they can arrange for you daily excursions. I booked a superior room with ocean view so the view was really nice and the room spacious and comfortable. Very good smoothies and nice staff at the reception at least.
My room was on the first floor and on both sides where the main station for taxi boat so it was always loudly. More, in front of the hotel there’s an island, and a disco with loud music all night long so not so silent, I wasn’t able to sleep the first night in bocas because of the music till 4 in the morning. Breakfast had not many options and the staff of the restaurant is not so welcoming, this had been my experience. I’ve asked to have my table clean but the waiter thought it was more important end her chat with a colleague instead of giving me the service for what I paid for. No smile at all, with the exception of a really nice other waiter that had been really nice instead. If you are looking for peace and tranquility I would not recommend it.

No coffee maker in room as advertised. Sometimes no hot water. Friends room was very loud at night though they movEd her when asked. Breakfast place really did not have kids’ options.

Verified reviewBocas Paradise Hotel was fantastic. Right on the water. We had the best room overlooking the water. Comfortable bed, very clean. Coffee machine in the room. Water filter in the lobby to fill up bottles. The cafe has got to be one of the best in town and probably the best happy hour from 4-10pm there is around. Breakfast each day is also great and worth the price. We also did washing for 8USD and it was a great service too. Highly recommend!
The only downside is that being right in the action and being a party destination, music is cranking all night long. They give you earbuds on your bedside table so as long as you're not a light sleeper this is the place to stay.

Verified reviewNice hotel, good location for docks, restaurants, activities. Room was fair and met my expectations. They had a same day laundry service which was very reasonable.
$5.00 towel rental. I can see a deposit being taken but charging for the towel seemed a bit of a grab. They play music in the lobby too loud and it carries up to the second floor.

Stylish decor, impeccably clean and the day bed on the balcony was the perfect spot to read or watch the activity on the water. One afternoon I saw dolphins! Cannot recommend this hotel enough
You can hear some noise from the surrounding bars, but that is not the hotel’s fault. They do provide ear plugs for light sleepers.

Verified reviewThe property was in the middle of Boca town. Short walk to everything. Staff was super friendly. Food was outstanding. Room was clean.
Unfortunately, the location is between two boat taxi pick ups. And the boat taxis are quite noisy, and the taxi drivers are quite aggressive. Almost to an uncomfortable level. If you stay at this hotel and a taxi driver named Hilton tries to help you tell him no he is a crook.

It can be a bit noisy at night as the location is very central and next to clubs and bars but it was better than expected after reading other reviews.
