Marco and the fellas running the place are lovely. They do a great job to make sure your stay is the best it can be. They book trips and tours for you, help you out with queries and make the most delicious breakfasts. I absolutely loved the deck area with the swings and hammocks looking out over the water. It was really a lovely place to spend an afternoon/evening or eat your breakfast on. I liked the fact you could have a drink on there also from their bar. Taxi rides are so cheap and it's a quick ride to the town. I loved the cats and dogs too.

Ear plugs and an eye mask are essential for light sleepers. If other hotels have loud music you can hear it, plus the bedroom doors are impossible to close quietly so my sleep was disturbed for my stay. The wonderful Aircon does light up the whole room with the numbers on the screen hence my advice for an eye mask. But I honestly loved my stay and in hindsight would have stayed longer if I hadn't booked my transfer back already.

Service from Marko, Martin, Rey and the girl cook was spotless. They are all so helpful and willing to advise where and what to do in everything is lovely. The deck area is so welcoming and you just want to stay and chill all day watching the water.

BarrBra was a great choice for our short 3-day trip. We felt at home from the first moment. Marco was super kind, charismatic, and made us feel very welcome. His dogs and cats were lovely and friendly. Also, the information Marco gave us at check-in was like a full travel guide about Bocas del Toro – very helpful!

The only bad thing was not being able to stay longer!

The all place ! The room was great, with bathroom and AC. The common places, kitchen, terrace were great. The people working there were really nice to us. We really recommended this place in Bocas!

A little detail: the AC was a little too noisy at night which make it complicated to sleep with it, but we discovered at the end of our stay that we could open the window without having mosquitoes inside instead of the AC ...

After 13 hours of traveling (4 buses, 1 taxi, and 2 boats) we arrived - exhausted - at BarrBra, where we were met with a warm and heartfelt “Welcome Home.”
If you don’t like reading reviews, that’s basically all you need to know. That’s exactly what we needed to hear and what it felt like to us: Home. It took us about 35 minutes to extend our stay, simply because we were too afraid to go out for dinner without being 100% sure we could stay for the rest of our trip.
Turns out, it was the best decision ever. Every little detail in this hidden gem reflects how much love, dedication, and thought has gone into it. Someone is clearly living their dream here.
Marco and his crew (which includes not only incredibly kind and attentive humans, but also the most lovable animals (but more on the furry brigade later)) are postive-minded, funny, always available and made this stay truly extraordinary. The breakfast you’re met with each morning is another testament to the love and care poured into this place. I'm so glad we stayed long enough to try everything. Enjoying it in such a little slice of paradise made it even better. I honestly don’t understand how this place isn’t rated 10/10. Is it a 5-star hotel? No. Does it claim to be? Absolutely not.
What it is, though, is a small oasis that makes you forget the outside world in the blink of an eye. It has got 5-star employees, and most importantly, it’s real.
From check-in to check-out, you're met with genuine friendliness and thoughtful attention. ❤️ Also, the website is superb—so detailed, clear, and helpful. Now for the animalistic side of the house: Pipa 🦮, Loulou 🐕‍🦺, Jaja 🐈, and Johnny 🐈‍⬛.
If you’re not usually fond of animals, this might just be the perfect place to make peace with them. You can feel how much love and care they receive.
Their calm, relaxed demeanor can turn even the rainiest of days into cozy, cuddle-filled joy. Take care, keep living your dream and spreading this positive energy.

Absolutely fabulous stay, loved every second of it and I struggle to think of anything they could have improved on to be honest. We were there for two nights and were the only guests who didn’t heed the news of the civil unrest en route and boy did it pay off! After communicating with Marco we knew it was safe to continue travel to the ‘BnB’ and the journey was absolutely fine with no delays or disruptions. The benefit of us knowing the journey would be fine was that we had the whole place to ourselves, other than Marco and his team (Ray who makes the BEST breakfasts and their colleague whose name fails me right now, who sets the rooms up immaculately) there were also two adorable dogs and two beautiful cats on site (all local rescues) who all came together to make our stay feel just like home. Their tagline on the welcome guide full of local tips, recommendations and discounts is ‘Welcome Home’ and it was spot on! They have thought of everything and went out of their way to make our stay as memorable and comfortable as possible and some. The weather wasn’t fully on our side for our stay but it was chilled, with beautiful views from both the open air deck and sheltered hammock area, impeccable service and we had practically the choice of the rooms, even after an immediate upgrade. The place is only a few minutes walk from the livelier centre but it’s 100% worth it, after extensive travel over the last 10 years this is comfortably the best all round experience I have had and I would recommend to anyone to book this wonderful property for your stay in Bocas Del Toro (and already have). Also worth noting that within the welcome guide there are discounts offered on recommended restaurants and activities in BDT, we benefitted from these twice in restaurants and once in a bar and they were 10/10, Marco even booked our onward transport from BDT at a far better price than we’d found ourselves.

That we didn’t stay here longer and that we live so far away that we can’t come back every week

Incredibly relaxing, the most relax9ng stay we have ever had. Exceptional breakfast, lovely rooms and the lounge area is phenomenal. Guest Kitchen area is great for doing some self catering.

We loved Rey the manager, he made us feel at home. Breakfast was top notch. Quiet location on the water. Walked out of my room and swam in the Sea.

I would like to see the hanging lights on the deck either change to red or be dimmed awhole lot. The brightness made it imposible to enjoy the night ocean darkness.

Extremely relaxing. Welcoming staff. Great pancakes for breakfast. Everything here was great and it's such a nice place to chill out. Plus it's very easy to organise tours with the host, and the tourguide even picks you up in a boat directly from the property.

If the room had Aircon this would be 10/10, but it was still manageable with just the fan.

I had an unforgettable stay at this charming casita in Bocas del Toro. The view was absolutely breathtaking—waking up to the serene ocean and lush greenery was pure magic. The attention from the hosts was warm, thoughtful, and truly made us feel at home. The casita was beautifully designed and fully equipped with everything we needed, from a cozy kitchen to comfy beds and a peaceful outdoor space. It’s the perfect tropical escape, combining comfort, natural beauty, and genuine hospitality. I can’t wait to come back!

BarrBra is a very special place - Marco, Hiyam and Rey are the kindest hosts and make you feel like coming home to family. The terrace on the water invites to relax and cuddle the cute dogs and cats living at BarrBra. The atmosphere is calming and our room was simply stunning with a huge private balcony where we would relax in hammocks and listen to the sea. Everything was super clean, breakfast was home-made and included with an extraordinary service. Thank you for the great experience and wish you all the best!

This was just to good, wauw! We were so said to leave! Breakfast is amazing, the host is amazing, the cats and dogs are amazing. Overall our best stay!

Everything - from the place itself with so many thoughtful details, the communication and Information provided before and during the stay, delicious breakfast and of course the hosts and the atmosphere they create. The location outside of Bocas is perfect, when you don‘t want to be in the middle of everyone else but still in good walking distance. Traveling alone it is very important for me to feel safe and comfortable in an accommodation and at BarrBra BnB I felt more than that, I really felt at home for those few days.

The accommodation was amazing with great and comfortable rooms and running hot water. The lounge area and deck areas are clean and charming making for a very relaxing and charming environment. Views over the bay are great and a good place to chill with a drink (from the honesty bar) and watch the sunset.

It is a bit far from town, but taxis (if you can flag one down) are only $1 pp.
