Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe location is quite far away from the village, you cannot do anything on a walking distance (no bars, no supermarkets), so you need to take the hotel shuttle to get downtown (4 dollars for one person, each way, so it becomes expensive). Also, the waiting times for breakfast were too long, we almost missed our tour and had to eat so quick the breakfast...
My favourite thing here was the heated pool and jacuzzi. Such a nice vibe and cozy atmosphere here! The common areas are so well designed, really makes you want to spend time there. I need to highlight how delicious the food in the hotel restaurant was! It is so well made, healthy and full of flavour. I wanted to eat there all the time!

FranceBambuda Castle offers stunning mountain views and a truly unique atmosphere. The design feels almost hobbit-like, with charming details that make it a perfect place for calm and serenity. It is not in the city center, but for about $4 you can get there easily, so you still have quick access to everything while enjoying a peaceful retreat. The setting is beautiful, the vibe is relaxing, and it is a great choice if you are looking to unwind in a unique and picturesque place. Again the Bambuda standard of high quality stay and experience is also present here. I recommend.

NetherlandsTower room should get more fresh air. It smells a bit damp. Furthermore, the music outside in front of the tower room is a bit annoying if you want to turn in early.
Food is amazing! Nice vibe.

Absolutely Incredible Hospitality! Melanie and Ashley were beyond amazing! My friend and I had unexpected issues with our phones (a total nightmare), which made it really difficult to plan our days. Thankfully, Melanie and Ashley stepped in and helped us with both our itinerary and transportation. Their kindness and support made all the difference. This place is truly a gem—peaceful, beautiful, and perfect for relaxation. The views are stunning, and the hobbit cabin is a magical experience in itself. We will definitely be back and will be recommending this beautiful spot to anyone looking to unwind in a serene, unforgettable setting.

NetherlandsThe bar / restaurant closes really early, like around 9pm. After that it’s not possible anymore to get any drinks. The pool and jacuzzi where under construction which was a little sad. Especially when you’re doing some amazing hikes around it’s nice to chill.
It is a castle! Little outside the centre but the shuttle they offer is great! Food is good. Staff is really nice and helpful.

NetherlandsReally cool property close to Boquete with nice staff and amazing views. We got an upgrade to a hobbit house which was a nice surprise! The room was very comfortable and the castle looks really nice with a well decorated common area. There is also plenty of parking space.

HungaryThey should have local dishes on the menu of the restaurant as well, not just the usual pizza-pasta combo. The hostel is 4km from the centre (uphill) so you need an hour to walk or a shuttle to get there from Boquete.
One of the best hostels I have ever stayed. It is an elegant and expensive hotel, but somehow they have cheap and affordable dorm accomodations as well. The beds are capsule style equipped with lights and electric socket, and the bed is super comfy. The staff is nice and helpful, tons of activities can be booked.

United KingdomStayed in Tower Room and Hobbit House and loved the experience. Clean, cosy and comfortable. Location just outside of town but beautiful views of countryside and coffee farms. Great staff on reception and bar/restaurant area. Unfortunately some disturbance and noise as renovations in progress and pool plus self service kitchen area out of use on ground floor.

United StatesA but far from the town. They do have a shuttle service though.
Very nice, clean, and great views. Friendly and helpful staff. The property is more like a hotel that happens to have a dorm room. Don’t book this place expecting a hostel, it doesn’t have a kitchen or other typical hostel amenities

United StatesLocation and view alone are worth the stay. The great room and dining balcony are spacious and comfortable. The breakfast and dinner menu are good and prices are reasonable. We stayed in a tower room, bathroom on the main level with a circular staircase up to the bedroom. Unique but not that practical. Full size bed is a bit small for us, but the mattress was decent.

United KingdomWe were very disappointed to find the pool under renovation and by the time we were told about this we couldn't rebook anywhere else as we were a group. We complained a little and the staff then surpassed themselves giving us a lovely family room and free breakfast ❤️ The lady on the front desk I think called Melenia was incredible, she was kind and helpful, always smiling and sorted out some trips for us that were great. We did rappelling/canyoning with Angel and his team and zip wires, both well worth it x the bar man who's name I forget pours a great cocktail as well 😍 Food was great but I was limited as a gluten free veggie 🤷 Overall a great stay, I can imagine with the pool all done it will be even better. Our friends stayed in the hobbit houses and loved it x
