Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaFaiz and his team are extremely nice and do a great job. Other camps may be more luxurious, but this one undoubtedly has the best location. The food is great, the tents are cozy - just perfect. We had two wonderful nights!

United KingdomFabulous location, properly into the desert where you could walk to top of a dune at sunset and not see another building. And really comfortable room/bed, with great breakfast and dinner.

GermanyNot really.
A nice, clean, small camp with personality. The food was fantastic and the service impeccable. The tent electricity is solar powered, and the space between the tents gives you good privacy. You should book the activities they offer, you can decide when you arrive. Pick up was easy, trust is a given.

Absolutely delightful, small and intimate camp with wonderful views and run by really charming people. They also organise great trips including an exhilarating three hour drive in the desert and a sunset camel ride.

We stayed 2 nights at Sunrise Camp and had an amazing experience. It really felt like you're in the desert and we much preferred it to staying in one of the large camps as it felt like a more authentic experience. The breakfast and dinner were both incredible, the dinner buffet on the second night was a different buffet from the first night and it was nice to have such variety. We had a sunset camel ride which we would definitely recommend. Overall, the quality of the staff and the scenery made this a fantastic place to stay.

SingaporeFar enough from the nearby village, so the trip to the camp itself was an experience; yet there was reliable mobile reception. The camp owner and the team were very friendly and helpful. Tent came with adequate basic amenities and is comfortable. Great breakfast and dinner. The 3hr desert tour we did was very worthwhile.

SpainThe best place to stay in the desert. Special thanks to Idrees for the great breakfast, the dinner, and all the preparations for the stay and comfort among the other travelers. Also, thanks to both Ali for their help and activities—it was the best dune drifting ever. The rooms were very comfortable and beautiful. I definitely recommend it!

AustriaThere are people dune bashing all around the clock, even late at night but this is not the owner's fault. They come from other camps. I hope, some authority decides to restrict dune bashing, especially during the night.
Although this camp isn't far from other camps, it is so well-located in the dunes that you feel alone in the desert. They only have 5 tents which makes staying there a cosy experience. We booked the camel ride, the transfer and the dinner and everything was very well done. We also booked the desert tour and for that one we had Faiz, the owner, as our guide who created an excellent experience for us. He gave us a lot of information about today's life in the desert and he is a very good driver - no dune can stop him! :) Adrees, who works at the camp, is a gem and made us feel very welcome.

GermanyThe horrible noise of the quads roaring till one AM in the nearby valley kept us awake and spoiled the magic of being in the desert, but there is not much the staff can do about it. Also keeping the tent close from the evening wind was a bit of a challenge as the velcro provided just doesn't do the job.
Location is truly magical, it feels like you stepped on the set of Dune. The red sand, the feeling of being in the desert, even the drive there is exhilarating. Being so small it feels private and does not have the "resort" feel of other larger locations, which in my book is a good thing. Tent is comfortable, there is an attached bathroom with a shower and a balcony, what more could one want in the desert? Staff is very friendly, Adriz (hope the spelling is close to his real name) is friendly and warm. Food was quite nice, both breakfast and dinner. We did the camel sunset ride and the sand boarding, both memorable.

Czech RepublicNothing.
This campground exceeded our expectation. The location away from other camps, around 10 km inside the desert, up among the dunes. The campground is very private (small with only 5 tents). Amazing dinner consisted of 5 different meals, homemade, really worth the price (7 OMR for dinner+breakfast). Easy to get there (either with 4WD or possible to pay for a ride) because of conveniently located meeting point just outside the Bidiyah.

AustriaOnly downside was, that some people drove some cars or quads from 11p.m. until 1am which was super annoying as the noise travelled the whole desert. But it had nothing to do with. the accommodation and maybe we had bad luck.
Very remote at "the end" of the valley in the desert on a dune situated. The tents are more than spacious and provide really everything you need. I also have to highlight the food, which was really amazing. And afterwards you could have a chat with the other guest (which were not a lot, as it's only 5 tents) at a campfire. The owner is super helpful (he even helped us with our flat tire) and the transport from the meeting point was easy going.

BelgiumThere was nothing not to like. Only one mini-tiny observation: the floor was slightly un-even and we had to change the position of the sleeping arrangements. But I cannot say this was a concern.
