The staff at this property were exceptional! Friendly, warm, smiling, and they were always conducting themselves in a professional manner. They went over and above to make our stay a most pleasant experience. The location is incredible, views outstanding. Our room was comfortable and quiet. The meals were generous and varied. We enjoyed relaxing in the lounge area and outside on the terrace. The walk up to the top is picturesque and we were given fresh organic apricots to sustain us on the way. Definitely recommend Sama Wakan Heritage Homes.

AustriaYou need a 4x4 car to come up there. Very nice and helpful stuff. As it’s an ancient building small rooms. Good working shower . Fantastic view. We didn’t expect such a good cooking . Just relax up there, or walk up to the view point, many many stairs about one hour.

Dinner and breakfast were superb! The open fire heather is a welcome warmth fitting for an evening in the mountains. BelgiumVery basic comfort in a small room, which was OK for me, but does not at all match the price. Hotel overcharges transport by 4x4. A driver at the end of the paved road offered us spontaneously the ride up at about half the price (8 OMR negociated); we had a free lift down.
Location & location. Splendid view from outside terrace. Stay in traditional style rooms spread over 4 houses in the hamlet. Special experience that you can only arrive by 3 km unpaved dusty mountain road (forbidden for mormal car). Good breakfast and dinner. The highlight is the 45 minutes (×2) hike over a paved scenic path with steps, between gardens and palmtrees overlooking the deep valley below.
