Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaUnfortunately the owner was away on a business trip so the promised lessons on Bedouin culture could not be had.
From the moment we were met on the road til we finally said goodbye, it was wonderful. They made sure our tires were deflated enough to negotiate the sands and ensured we were comfortable to drive in those sands. The welcome mint drink was refreshing and the food, both breakfast and supper, was delicious. The evening sitting by the fire under the stars was very serene. As a bonus, from our point of view, the other tent on the property was not occupied during our stay so we had in effect a private camp. Getting dressed up as a Bedouin couple on the last morning made for some memorable photos.

HungaryWe had an amazing private (only 2 tents), exclusive but authentic experience in the desert. Hamad is a super nice host, and we can't be grateful enough for Hassan's courses. The tent was pretty large and comfortable, We wish we could go back once in the future ❤️

AustraliaHamad and Hassan were very funny and sweet. We had a lovely time by the fire. Hassan cooked great food for dinner and breakfast. Good value compared with some other places considering dinner and breakfast is included. Room is very comfy, we slept great. Good location, feels very cosy. Hamad is Bedouin and he has some beautiful artefacts to show you and talk about. Make sure you bring cash to pay.

Hamad is a perfect host. He takes care of everything you need and makes your stay a wonderful adventure. Food was very tasty prepared by Hassan who serves you best and keeps the place nice and clean. Despite a little sandstorm and bad weather we had a perfect stay.

United KingdomWe enjoyed our stay at the Bedouin camp. It was special to be in the desert, and since the camp has two tents for guests, it is quite peaceful. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. We stayed there for two nights. On the first night the weather was good and we had a campfire, which was fun. The stars at night are amazing. On the second night it rained quite a bit - though it was fine as the hosts put a waterproof cover on our tent just as a precaution against the heavy rain. We were quite cosy inside the tent. We did not expect it to rain in the desert, but apparently this can happen sometimes over the winter months (we went early March).

ItalyThe 4WD to the camp was a bit expensive (20 omani rials that is 47 euro). If you are planning to travel by car in Oman I would suggest renting an off road/4WD
I loved the isolated location in the middle of the desert. The staff was smiling and welcoming. I liked that the camp was for 4 people only, very private. After dinner we watched the stars in front of the bonfire

MaltaEverything was to our satisfaction.
We had already spent a night in a camp in the Rub al Khali which we had reached from Salalah down in the south of the country .That camp's toilets left a lot to be desired, so we were unsure as to what we were about to find in Wahiba Sands. How wrong we were. We were welcomed at the company's office at 15.00 on the dot by Hamed, who spoke near-perfect English, and gave us a short history of the country and its geography. We were then introduced to (another) Hamed who was to lead us into the desert and serve as our host at the camp. He deflated our 4x4's tyres and we drove in after him. After a longish drive through the dunes we reached the camp. It consisted of three tents, one of which belonged to Hassan - the chef- while one belonged to us. It was in an idyllic setting far from civilisation which allowed us to be fully immersed in the bedouin's culture. Notwithstanding the language barrier, the host - Hamed - was exceptionally patient, generous and welcoming. The food was great, the beds comfortable, the amenities clean and the whole activity well worth the price we paid. If anyone is interested in a genuine and immersive experience in Wahiba Sands, then this is the one you need. Thank you for a great time. James.

GermanyWe like that it is a small camp with two sleeping tents, a common tent for dinner and breakfast, an additional hut and bathroom. So it was not crowded and we had one night all for our own without any other guests around. People here are extremely welcoming! Good authentic dinner and breakfast. We had a great time!

GermanyGreat camp to enjoy a pure night in the desert. The camp is located at a beautiful dune, it only has two tents so you can enjoy the beauty of the desert away from crowds. The food prepared by Hassan and the general hospitality is outstanding and you can learn about Beduin culture by sitting at the campfire under the stars. If you are looking for an authentic desert experience book here and avoid the bigger camps.

QatarThe camp was private - it was like we were the only people in the desert. Our host Hamad indulged us with 4x4 treks through the dunes to look for camels. Hussan , our chef (cook is not enough to describe him) produced exceptional food in the worse conditions! Day 1 there was torrential rain, thunder and lightning. Everyone rallied to ensure we had a dry and comfortable sleep. Day 2 a wind blew up to be a dust storm worthy of a movie! That was joined by a thunder storm that rained red dirt. Again we were kept fed and comfortable by Hussan. We'll be back!

Camping in the desert was one of the most amazing experiences during our holiday in Oman. The campsite is set in an incredible landscape (for a visitor from Central Europe). The hospitality introduced us to Omani cuisine and the people are very friendly. I definitely recommend it.
