There are also taxi issues: only the hotel’s own vehicles can enter the premises (at higher-than-average rates), and standard city taxis aren’t allowed to pick up or drop off directly at the hotel.
Mövenpick Hotel & Apartments Ghala Muscat offers a wonderful rooftop pool—an idyllic spot to relax after a full day of sightseeing or meetings. The infinity-edge pool and comfortable loungers make it one of the property’s main attractions. The rooms are very spacious: large beds, plenty of open space, and a well-thought-out layout ensure a comfortable stay. If extra room is important to you, you’ll appreciate this. However, the location isn’t the most convenient for those wanting quick access to Muscat’s central district or the harbor: most outings require a car or taxi. And there’s a catch: only the hotel’s own vehicles can enter the premises, and their rates are above average. Standard city taxis aren’t permitted to drive onto the property, which can be a minor inconvenience for budget travelers or anyone who prefers hailing cabs on the street—worth noting if you plan to be on the move frequently. Overall, if you prioritize spacious accommodations, a stylish rooftop retreat, and high-quality service, Mövenpick Ghala Muscat is an excellent choice. But if you need walkable access to main attractions and easy boarding for city taxis, you might want to look for a hotel closer to the center.

My stay at the hotel was absolutely wonderful! The hotel is spotless, perfectly located, and offers free valet parking such a great bonus.
