How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe location was great. Good breakfast Jimmy and his colleagues were excellent and the (not included) camel ride was very good.
Wi-Fi was not working but not big deal as we had our data and the coverage was good.

Verified reviewThe position is amazing. Not far from a small town, easy access also if is in the desert. Ideal for one night stay. We arrive there with a rental car thank to the advice of the owner. They provide breakfast and dinner. We spent the night in the red bungalow that is very cosy and the bed is very comfortable. There is slso a jacuzzi. At the end of our stay we received a small but very appreciate present.
The toilet should be cleaned better.

Verified reviewAmazing place with unforgettable views of the dunes. The staff offered us dinner and transport from Bidiyah to the camp (both for additional price). Dinner and breakfast were tasty with quite a few options to choose from. Comfortable and warm bed. There are some activities you can try on the desert like sandboarding a so on, but we didn't have time to try that.
Showering was quite an adventure :D but you're sleeping on the desert, so it's understable We arrived in the evening, so when we wanted to shower, the water was cold (it's probably warmer when the sun's out). Quick, cold shower under the stars (there's no roof in the bathroom - not the problem, it's actually really nice) and we went to bed

Verified reviewWe really enjoyed our stay at Moonlight Camp. Amazing hospitality of the hosts, accurate time of picking us up from the nearby village (we didn’t have an SUV), tasty dinner (grilled kebab meat was fantastic) and, of course, stunning views of the desert and breathtaking star-spangled sky above. Thank you for your warm hospitality and hopefully we’ll come back once.

Verified reviewThe deluxe room we had at MoonLight was very comfortable and was good value for the desert.
the dining area wasn’t very nice and nor was the food in general. I suspect when it’s not so hot everyone eats in the open tented area upstairs but we were eating in a charmless tube lit room and the food wasn’t that good. It’s a shame because the place had sooo many great reviews that i got the sense it was highly personalized and charming, but sadly I think I had my expectations too high. It was good but not great!

Verified reviewWe had a wonderful stay at this desert camp. The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming, and we felt warmly received from the moment we arrived. The evening meal and breakfast were both delicious and plentiful, with a great variety of options. At night, we enjoyed a cozy campfire, which added to the special atmosphere. We slept very well and woke up to a stunning sunrise that we could admire right from our cabin. Highly recommended!

Verified reviewWe had a fantastic time at this camp. The place was well set up, with a cozy swing out front that added a charming touch. Both breakfast and dinner were decent, and the overall vibe was very welcoming. The host arranged an exciting dune bashing session and took us to watch the sunset — totally worth the extra charge! At night, you can wander off into the quiet desert, lie down, and gaze at the stars. I even spotted four shooting stars! It was truly an unforgettable experience.

Verified reviewAmazing spot - desert around you as far as you can look. The tents are beautiful and super comfy. My husband and son went in a dune bashing sunset tour and liked it a lot. We were enjoying the sunset from the dunes around us before getting ready for dinner: yummy buffet! Next morning after breakfast we had lots of fun with a sandboard.

Verified reviewWe really enjoyed our stay here. Everything from beginning to the end was very uncomplicated. We even self drove to the camp and it was manageable. In the evening we did the sand bashing and this really was a once in a lifetime experience. Thanks again!

Verified reviewAbsolutely amazing camp / experience! We had the "tipi" accommodation and it's amazing as you truly feel in the nature and almost by yourself (although the camp is a 5 minutes walk away). All the staff was extremely kind to us and enhanced the experience for sure. The food whether it was dinner or breakfast was really good. An amazing experience which I can only recommend.
Nothing!

Verified reviewVery nice experience. The tent was really nice and big. You need a pick up if you dont have a 4x4, which cost 5 reals. You can leave your car at the castle and they pick you up from there. That worked very good. They prepared a bonfire for guest to gather around, thank you for that!
Food was delicious but if we could suggest something is to add some fruit for breakfast and dinner.

Verified reviewBrilliant! From initial contact, they gave me all the information I needed and responded quickly to messages. The explanation for driving there was perfect, from where to get your tyres deflated and then each step into the dunes. The tents on stilts were fabulous, very comfy beds. We did the 'sand bashing' tour at sunset and had a fabulous time. Dinner was wonderful, buffet, with plenty of choice. We then sat around the camp fire for tea and marsh mallows under a star filled sky. Breakfast was as good as dinner! We also borrowed their sand boards for a little dune surfing. All the staff were friendly and helpful. I hope this praise reaches all of them as they thoroughly deserve it.

Verified reviewNicely located, away from the “main road”. Excellent communication via whatsapp before arrival, very helpful. The owners drove in front of us, to find the place. Tents are spacious, toilets above expectations considering this is desert. Dinner- delicious
Nothing, really

Activity range should be improved. The rooms were overall clean but the toilet was a bit stinky
