Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesOur bathroom was exterior to the room, and so we had to walk through the entrance area of the building to shower. This felt inconvenient, particularly in à conservative country.
The property has a wonderful location within the old city walls, in à charming ancient building. The staff were very kind and the breakfast was good

AustraliaGreat location in the old city. It is original mud brick (they claim 200 years old) and has been renovated to some extent. It was an easy walk to the fort, souk etc. Rooms are small and it is a 'wet' bathroom. Staff were pleasant. Breakfast is on the deck of a nearby hotel (it appeared to be guests from several hotels). The breakfast buffet was fine and more than sufficient. We had a four wheel drive and parking in the old city can be a challenge. They will give you a pin drop on the map - follow that and not the directions to the hotel! it is a shared carpark with another hotel about two hundred metres away (with a short cut through the breakfast hotel). Staff helped with the bags and it was not an issue. If you arrive during the siesta and leave early it is simple; outside those hours and in the evening it can be challenging with people, other vehicles and narrow laneways. We were there at the end of Eid so it was probably a bit busier than usual. Plenty of places to eat within an easy walk. We would stay again.

Norway. The hotel could be a real gem with an improvement in decoration! Smal details in decoration of room and corridors could make the Omani heritage even more remarkable.
The hotel's atmosphere is relaxing, charming and inspiring. The location is great, near the old town, souk and Nizwa Fort. The staff is polite, helpful.and kind! We had breakfast in a nearby hotel, which was an excellent solution. Clean room and bathroom! During the daytime an external private bathroom it is a blessing because you can freely shower and the bathroom will be instantly dry because it has a good ventilation. During the nighttime I had once or twice missed to have an internal bathroom, but that was just a minor detail. The hotel has rooms with both choises which is acctually great! Great value for money!

Traditional vibes. Inside the old city of Nizwa. Only 3 mins from the fort. Very kind and friendly staff. They were doing their best to help you. Arranged a private taxi for me to make my way to Muscat at a good price. Room was very clean. Nice terrace.

NetherlandsGorgeous old traditional building with a great atmosphere. It’s located in the old town. The bathroom is separate, but clean. The owners were helpful finding the location and directions to the free parking. Breakfast is in the Antique Inn, about 200 meters (3 min walk).

Hong KongThis is a 200 years + traditional house in Nizwa old town. Need to walk 3 mins from free car parking lot. We had free coffee & sweets in the morning while we checked out. Walk around Old town is very convenient from this hotel. Bed is comfy & room is quiet. Had a very good sleep after few days road trip in Oman.

ChinaParking in the old town district can be quite challenging, but the hotel staff helped us secure a good spot. The bathroom tends to accumulate water during showers, and it would be best if this could be improved.
The location is very close to Nizwa Fort, and on our walk there, we were able to enjoy the scenery of the old town district. Breakfast is served at another hotel, just a two-minute walk away, and the taste is quite acceptable.
