How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWhat we loved about the camp is that it is made by a few tents and it is on a dune. The place is quiet, clean and offers a great experience. Hilal and his brother are the most exquisite hosts we could ask for - caring and attentive.
I looked for things we didn’t like and I found none: everything was perfect!

Verified reviewThe location was nice. It was far enough away from other camps so we didn't hear any noise, but there were a surprising number of people on the dunes overlooking the camp at sunset. We weren't disturbed at all by them, but it was strange. The camp hosts were very nice.
The facilities themselves didn't measure up to other desert camps I'd been to in Dubai and Morocco. The tent was spacious but the furniture provided was very "bare bones." The other camps had thoughtful decor and multiple electrical outlets, while this had one outlet that buzzed if anything was plugged in. There were no included activities at the camp. I think there was one sand board and a game of Uno. The buffet meals offered minimal options but was edible. There was also no after-dinner options where other camps had campfires and musicians. We had originally book 2 nights, but left early.
Hello madam, thank you for your kind visit. Regarding the activities, we have reduced the activities due to the hot weather. Maybe you did not like our humble camp. But for all our visitors for years, the camp was suitable for them to relax and enjoy the beauty of the desert away from exaggeration and luxury. The pictures and information provided to you before arrival were very clear. You should choose what suits you. All our visitors have wonderful comments and they come back to visit us many times. Thank you.

Verified reviewIncredible family run business - Ahmed and Rashid welcomed us to their camp in their lush desert home, taught us about Bedouin life and made sure we had an unforgettable experience. Easy pick up, 4WD dune bashing tour at sunset (highly recommend), delicious buffet meals, comfortable tents. We wanted to sleep out under the stars and they immediately moved our bed outside for us. We learnt so much about their Bedouin way of life. Please stay here - these people and this place is truly special.

Verified reviewThe camp was nicely located in the dunes, there were some other camps nearby, but not close enough to notice them without walking some distance. The facilities were amazing, tents were simple, yet well equipped and the little private bathrooms (including showers) were just perfect. Sunset camel ride was brilliant and definitely worth doing. Both the dinner and breakfast were well prepared with a large variety of food, we were very impressed by the quality and quantity of the dinner and breakfasts.
The bed/mattresses were very hard/firm, so was a bit tough to fall asleep.

Verified reviewAmazing and special accommodation, which you should try once in your life. Camp is quite far from the town and other camps and you need to drive a bit in the desert, which is exactly what we were looking for. It is really tranquil and silent. You can go up the dunes to see the sunset and sunrise. Breakfast and dinner were also very good and filling. Ali was a great host
The only thing that we didn't like was the bed, it was very hard. But the rest makes up for it

Verified reviewThe location is perfect, breakfast and dinner very fine, this camp gives you the feeling to really visit the desert, while making sure that you have everything you need. Very clean tent, shower and toilet, excellent bed, all perfect. If one wants to experience desert in a very safe and still authentic way, do not book a chalet with pool, book a quality very large tent from a local person, Ali, who grow up himself, with his camels, in the desert, only 2 km away.
Ali good have done nothing better.

Verified reviewGreat location up in the dunes. Host was waiting for us to drive ahead and we followed (4x4 required). When dinner ended, host started a camp fire. There are 9 tents and we were lucky to be the only guests that day. Host offers camel riding and dune bashing.

Verified reviewSpacious and simple tents with everything you might need for a night in the desert. There is a beautiful big dune closeby which is perfect to watch the sunset. Lovely staff and owner who took the time to sit with us by the fire and talk about Oman. Food was ok too!
