I like the ambience, the peaceful location, and the complete things we need in the kitchen, from utensils, kitchenware and spices for food.

Everything was good except a little issue with accessing tv channels, there was only one local channel we could find. And we couldn't use netflix or youtube. Anyhow, the good thing was we were able to use the wifi with great connection.

it's a small 1 room smelly musty that need for maintenance the bed is so big that it's hard to go around it while it's easy blow something with the elbow when near the kitchen countertop not noticed there's bathroom for campervans just next door leaning the very same building, whose door is frequently slammed even in the middle of the night. even though the david's cares is tricky to reach the door and yet is not easy to find something better near the tongariro park

The property is well-equipped and in a beautiful, peaceful setting. The location near Tongariro National Park was fantastic.

Our first reaction was to look for another hotel nearby. Unfortunately, there was nothing available, or we would have left. As soon as you enter, you are hit by a nauseating smell of humidity mixed with stale air. The dated furniture makes the environment anything but welcoming. The curtains were as dirty as the rest of the house. Unfortunately, cleaning the floor alone is not enough to make the room feel clean. The bathroom is essentially a container attached to the house. That wouldn’t necessarily be a problem, but it was rusty, with yellowed walls and some mold in the corners due to the high humidity. On top of that, the bathroom was next to the one used by campers. Every time one of them used it, we could hear everything, and it often woke us up. The same happened with the cars passing by on the road, which made the windows shake. The only positive aspect is that the house is surrounded by nature. If the price were lower and you had very low expectations, it might be acceptable. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend it.

This is a private cabin with everything you need. The covered deck is a great place to hang out, even when it’s raining. There is a wonderful private path down to a picnic table by a stream.

I would’ve liked an information sheet about local places to shop and eat but we figured it out.

It was a great experience staying in the middle of nature, there were other 2 or 1 cabin around but it was empty during my 2 nights stay. I loved it's so quiet but at the same time near to the motorway. The owner was very attentive and helpful. Kitchen was very well equipped.

Maybe the cleanliness wasn't the best, there were some spiderwebs and spiders which are pretty normal, just some of tiny details here and there mostly in the kitchen. But the bedding was spotless and bathroom clean as well.

We are extremely disappointed with this accommodation experience. First, after we had already cleaned the room and checked out, we were notified four days later that we were required to pay for linen cleaning. How can it be proven that no one entered or used the property during these days? Second, after raising our concerns with the host, we still haven’t seen any evidence of the alleged stains on the linens. The host continues to insist that we must pay for the linen cleaning fee without providing any proof. We even cleaned out all the trash before leaving. Third, upon checking in, we discovered a towel with black stains, and the kitchen utensils were damp and unusable. There was even a bottle of BBQ sauce that expired 2–3 years ago. How can we trust that the housekeeper had properly cleaned and managed the property under such conditions?

    Property response:

The guest had spilt an oil based liquid onto the bed spread and it need to be cleaned proffesionally . We do not have issues like this very often ( two in five years) . The guest had previously txted me to report all was fine and that it is a "lovely place". However when communicated with over the issue of the spill on the bedspread / duvet has changed his opinion and attitude . We operate to high standards and with integrity --can I suggest other reviews are more accurate. I actually gave this guest a high review score ---things do happen but its the putting right that matters and then paying up and move on Thanks Hi I am ever so sorry about the message that you somehow received in error ---and that was not intended for you at all ---and further when I wrote the response thought I was sending it to someone else Please therefore accept my humble aplogies for this IT muck up . You may wish to take action and modify your re view and even withdraw it ? Regarding the outdated soy sauce --We dont supply this and was left behind by another guest --as does a lot of other stuff . Good spotting regarding the expiry date

Small but perfectly adequate for 1 person. All utensils etc to cook meals. Would stay again.

Not quite as private as expected. Didn't realise bathroom for campervans was right next door, quite noisy.

Location on the mountainside; close to a number of trails. It was a cabin in the bush but with all the extras - r/c air cond, wifi, electric blankets. The view out on to the covered deck from the bed.

Location was ok. It felt a bit dangerous with the state highway being the only exit, but nothing happened. It felt like a tranquil place. It has beehives, so that looks nice. You have your own parking space and veranda.

It was not clean. There were dead flies all over the floor. The fly screen didn't work properly and we got a ton of moths inside which we painstakingly had to kill.

Tui Glen is a sweet cozy cabin at the forest edge with a lovely spacious deck, enclosed for privacy. The kitchen is very well equipped for meal preparation, and the cabin had lots of plugins for electronics. The bed and bedding was clean and comfortable. The location is handy for visiting Tongariro Park and just a few minutes from National Park grocery store and Gas station. We had the pleasure of meeting and visiting with the owner David and enjoyed the lovely location and quietness with our morning coffee and evening dinner.

The cabin is small but we were very happy with our choice for two nights and would happily return.

    The location was nice

We had to wait 45mins for someone to come and provide a key which needed to be collected from under the house as it was dropped between the slats of the floor. When we were leaving we also dropped the key and it fell beneath the floor. The house was dated and needed repairs. The bathroom was subpar as it looked like a public toilet and shower.

    Property response:

Hi Simona I am so sorry for the issue you had with the keys.We have since put in place measures to ensure that should people fumble with the keys that they cant fall through the decking as happened with you. I am most disapointed at your "4" score and the comments on the bathroom, the shower section is in our opinion of a very high standard and we are quite proud of the upgrade we did on this two years ago. Granted there is some routine maintanance due in the toiletsection and this will be done very soon . . Please note we have contrawise some very good reviews on file and return visits by satisfied quests . It is a "compact cabin" as it states in the listing and not to be ever compared to a 5* appartment in a large city .Thanks and all the best kind Regards David
