It is heavenly… my family will always remember this stay. A beautiful green garden, enormous verandah, wood fire, huge lounge, excellent kitchen and bathroom, secluded setting, bush track down to the river. Great host. Fabulous.

It was so Cosy. Had such a homely feel to it. 3 minute drive to a bar/restaurant , liquor store and four square shop , it is also a short drive to the slopes. Ideal place to stay if you have a large group as it can sleep up to 10 people. Out door area is beautiful, plenty of seating areas and behind the house is a lovely 300m track to a snow fed river. We had the fire roaring which heat the whole house, so warm and Cosy. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We met with David the owner before we checked out and he was very pleasant to talk to. Highly recommend to check this little gem out.

This was our second highly enjoyable stay here. It’s a fabulous place to book for families to enjoy an at-home style experience when travelling. The location is very convenient to Ohakune with its great restaurants and supermark and ideal for families going skiiing or visiting Waiouru Army Camp to be with their loved ones. The hosts have always been generous and helpful to ensure everything went smoothly. They are very communicative and available on call.

Unfortunately there was issues with the hot water as there was construction and the water pump hadn't been turned back on. So we had no hot water on the 1st night and morning. The owner rectified the situation and was very sorry for the inconvenience. Also the wifi was very spotty for us. But I guess you don't go to a place like this to spend the time on your phone. Lol

The location is amazing! The bed options and configurations are perfect for our needs. Plenty of fire wood and the little stove heated up the place nicely. The surrounding grounds are amazing and the short walk to the river is beautiful. Our host was very friendly and I would recommend this place to anyone with a big family.

Internet service bit slow and movies freeze sometimes for couple of minutes.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Tekoa Lodge for three nights and I must say, it was a truly wonderful experience. The lodge itself was very nice, clean, and cozy. The rooms were spacious and well-maintained, with comfortable beds that ensured a restful night's sleep. The decor had a rustic charm that added to the overall cozy atmosphere of the lodge. One aspect that really stood out to us was the excellent facilities that Tekoa Lodge had to offer. The common areas, such as the lounge and dining area, were inviting and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed spending time in these areas, whether it was relaxing with a book in front of wood burner or enjoying a movie on tv. The location of the lodge was also ideal, nestled in a picturesque setting surrounded by nature. It provided a peaceful and serene atmosphere, perfect for those seeking a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Overall, our stay at Tekoa Lodge was a truly memorable one. The combination of the nice, clean, and cozy rooms, excellent facilities, and friendly owner made it a truly enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend Tekoa Lodge to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway.

Only one thing during our stay was sometime wi-fi internet interrupted and stoped working or laggy.

We enjoyed the surrounding and easy access to all the needed amenities. Property is well comfy furnished and with all needed necessities required during your stay. Close to the National Park nice and cruisy about 20 mins drive. Best place to enjoy fire place we had going both evenings with well stocked woods. Well maintained property definitely can visit again.

Amazing location, river walk, nice easy drive to National Park so made getting to the Mt a breeze. Fireplace does wonders and no shortage on firewood no matter how hard you try to burn though it 😄. David the host is friendly and on call and ready to help. Will 100% be staying again. Cheers !!

No Internet for the most part. We noticed the “other rooms” are not really rooms but just nooks with curtains, but this did not affect us due to the size of our party. We imagine it could be scary for younger children not to have a door. 10am checkout is too early if asked to clean as well. However a cleaner arrived promptly after that.

Great location, close to the mountain and with a lovely setting and private back yard. Good size and cosy feel. Hosts accessible any time needed.
