Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandIt was quiet and spacious for the two of us. Felt like a really good escape away from devices. We watched the sky all night! Such a great way to stargaze.
We didn't end up having breakfast in the end but it looked great!!

I liked that you don't park your cars near each dome. It's more intimate and fun having the wee carts to take your belongings to your dome. Beautiful spot

New ZealandVariety for breakfast
We rented two domes during winter, and although we arrived late, everything was well-prepared. The heaters were already on, making the space warm and cozy the moment we stepped inside- well done to the team for the thoughtful setup! They also made sure we had all the information we needed. The dome itself was comfortable, and the bed was cozy, we had a great night’s sleep. Breakfast was simple just eggs, toast, and bacon. We were hoping for a bit more variety, maybe some sausages, mushrooms, or hash browns to round it out. Hopefully, they’ll consider expanding the options next time. That said, we had a fantastic overall experience and would happily come back again! 😊

New ZealandWould have loved to use the spa, but didn't realise it was there until the next morning. That's on me though.
Set adjacent to a camping ground and close to Lake Hawea the 'Tent's were supremely comfortable, beautifully appointed and staff extremely helpful. It was lovely to lie in luxury in the bed, the fire warming us and see the stars through the tent 'Window. Being double-skinned it was warm and inviting. We were completely unaware of other guests. Breakfast, cooked by the resident chef was a magnificent take on eggs Benny, as well as the usual continental offerings. I can't wait to go back.

United StatesNA I cannot wait to go back
If I could give this place 100 stars out of 10, I would. I feel so lucky that my friend and I snagged a night here - it was hands down the nicest place we stayed in New Zealand. The dome is massive - plenty of space for two people to spread out. The bed is new and comfortable - there is a separate 'closet' space and luggage rack for each person including robe and slippers. Dome includes a full blown coffee station with espresso machine and luxury teas. And the breakfast is delicious - hash browns, poached eggs, sprouts(!!), fresh squeezed OJ, and they give you your own carafe of coffee. The lake is a 5 min walk and with a full moon, it was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen (note: this moonlight also pours into your dome through transparent ceiling). The beach nearby has few people and there is a sauna (we skipped this and swam at the beach anyways). Will at front desk came out to meet us and help us with directions/bags to our dome, and the owners were there offering us appetizers. Digby the pupper was also part of the wonderful welcome committee - it was the best arrival experience I've had in years. Richard (Rick?) the owner also recommended what we should do the next day (Siberian Experience), and it was also one of the best things we did on our trip. If there is availability here, do not hesitate to book it. Lovely spot and very special humans. Will even brought me a brownie when I was working late and on calls. Big thanks to everyone at Cross Hill for the unforgettable stay!

BelgiumWould recommend to organize the breakfast a bit more, we had to wait quite some time for our breakfast and people who joined the table later than us got served first.. As we were on a tight schedule and had planned to start the day early with a long hike and long drive afterwards we had to reschedule some plans.
Fantastic stay!!

Incredible stay. Beautiful room with a great view of the mountains. Bed was extremely comfortable and the fire place was a nice touch. Only a 15 minute drive to Wanaka and a short walk to Lake Hawea. 10/10. Wish we’d stayed longer!

Australianothing. it's a must visit
Absolutely everything was excellent. My husband and I booked only 1 night and regret not staying for longer. We booked the hot tub and the experience was amazing. The staff Gloria helped us but adding more wood to the hot tub and made it like a camp fire in the hot tub. She brought us some marshmallows which we roasted while we were in the tub. It rained the whole night and the sound of rain was lovely. The heated bathroom floor and fireplace helped us stay warm.

New ZealandIf you’re a fan of good coffee, bring your own favourite Nespresso pods; they’re provided, but this one small thing was not especially high quality.
Truly wonderful experience! Everything about the glamping tents is very well designed and every possible need anticipated. Warm, cosy, modern, efficient, handsome… even elegant! This takes “glamping” to a five-star level. We’ll definitely be back.

JapanThe neighbors played music and talked loudly until night. The sound isolation is not enough. A moth was in the room. There was no curtain for the main window.
The property is surrounded by wonderful nature. Could see the starry sky from the room. The interior was great.
