How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewI highly recommend staying at Hari's house if you are planning to go on safari or just want to have a good time in Chitwan. Hari's house is a real haven of peace and quiet, surrounded by nature. The food is excellent, the rooms are comfortable and Hari is an extraordinary person with whom we shared many good moments, whether in the jungle, or around a table in the evening. I extended my stay by a night and a day because I felt really good there. The safari was incredible, I think I can say it was the best day of my stay in Nepal. The yoga classes in the evening were very relaxing too. This stay in Chitwan was purely authentic, purely relaxing, I leave with lots of good memories in my head and in my heart. I hope to have the opportunity to return one day. Thank you for everything. 🤍
thank you so much for being part of jungle family 🤗🫂

Verified reviewA beautiful small oasis full of warmth and care. Hari and his family are wonderful hosts and the property is so cozy and comfortable. Amazing jungle walks, jeep rides, yoga classes, sunsets, traditional dancing. We saw so many animals too. We are a couple in our 50s and had so much fun. Our fellow guests were 20-30s but were so warm and welcoming and the whole experience was so great, a definite highlight of our 2 month trip. Thank you Hari. Superb.

Verified reviewI had a wonderful time with Hari and his family. Hari clearly has such love for the area and is so knowledgeable as a guide. The homestay is a bit more remote, but I think it's certainly worth the journey, for the walking safari we were able to walk into the jungle from the homestay! It was so peaceful and far from the tourist crowds. My room and bathroom were very clean and had what I needed, Hari's parents ensured I was very well fed and their home is beautiful. I hope I will be visiting again, and I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Verified reviewI loved everything about this homestay. I spent 4 nights with Hari and his beautiful family and had the opportunity to practise yoga, relax in the hammocks, ride a bike through the village, and participate in 2 walking safaris. I've been to Chitwan before, but this experience was so much better...such an authentic experience and very well priced. I saw a tiger on the walking tour which was incredible (a definite highlight), but also saw so many rhino's, deers, boars and monkeys!. Hari is the best guide and I cannot recommend his walking safari more highly. Thanks, Hari, for such a wonderful experience...I will definitely be back!

Verified reviewA warm and humorous place close to nature. Here, Hari can take you to do yoga, take you on daily jungle adventures, and cook for you, hahaha 😌. His family is also lovely and will take care of everything for you. The jungle is amazing, and I really love it there. You can see many different wild animals, such as rhinos, deer, and various kinds of birds. I hope you can spot a tiger! The houses here are all built by Hari himself—he’s really impressive! The stay is also very comfortable ☺️. You can lie on the floor and bask in the sun, listen to music in a hammock, and just relax here. It’s so soothing.

Verified reviewThe homestay was absolutely lovely - Hari's parents and his little cousins are so open and welcoming and the food was so yummy but the biggest highlight of this stay was the Safari walk through the National Park. We saw so many animals that would have been missed if we were in a jeep and Hari's knowledge of all the animals was phenomenal Highly, highly recommend!

Verified reviewHari and his family are amazing. The best homestay I’ve ever been to in several years of travelling. Hari goes out of his way to make your time in Meghauli special. He took us for sunset in multiple different spots, brought us to a local spot to try Sukuti, and even made us a Christmas Day bbq instead of the usual Dhal Bhat. His home is so relaxing, I could have spent several more days hanging out in the hammock and eating popcorn by the fire. I can’t wait to see this place continue its success!

Verified reviewIncredible stay, Hari the host and guide is exceptional. I did a two day walking safari and saw loads of wildlife, it felt like an authentic jungle experience away from the over touristic areas. The food is great and the atmosphere around the Homestay is really nice. Would of loved to of stayed longer.
