How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewReally nice atmosphere and layout, with plenty of communal areas to meet people or do your own thing. Took the twin room/single room which were both very comfortable! Location is great as it is close to many things, yet not the main street.
Some of the younger reception staff weren't as welcoming or helpful as I had hoped.

Verified reviewOverall the experience was good just due to kitchen renovation it was bit difficult for food as they don't allow outside food. if only you want to explore whole day and want to sleep this is best option for dormant.
While booking it online it didn't specify that the towels will not be provided for dormant nor it allow to select single room.

Verified reviewThere is a large restaurant area with multiple public spaces to sit and relax. The food and coffee here are quite affordable and delicious compared to other hostels (not to mention the breakfast is on a superb level!). The first floor bunk beds room with curtains are pretty good, although sometimes hiking groups come back and chat until midnight. :(
If you book a rooftop room, be aware that there are no curtains or partitions between beds, and the sunlight will wake you up every morning. Luckily, I only used the bed for a few hours of sleep — otherwise, I would definitely avoid staying in that room. If you're a social or music-loving person, this place is for you. But personally, I didn’t enjoy the pop music being played from 10 am to 11 pm every day. I understand the need for music to keep the vibe lively for both staff and guests, but it felt excessive. It ended up ruining the peaceful, natural atmosphere of the restaurant and overshadowed the great food and affordability.

Verified reviewAfter Travelling to Lukla & coming back to wanderthirst to continue my stay in Kathmandu because I am happy with the Hotels, they have everything within the reach what ever you ask for. I kept my luggage in their locker room which is nice for the traveler like me to visit nearby places & to go back after 2-3 days. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends

Verified reviewThe rooms are clean & big, the bed is comfortable, the toilets are clean, they have a laundry facility at the doorstep, and the food is healthy in their restaurant. All the facilities with respect to the adventures & trekking are available without any extra cost, taxi facility available. & The most important staff is very friendly & cooperating, always ready to help you out.

Verified reviewThe bedding was dirty, the toilet as much as they cleaned it was still dirty, because of the amount of people using them. There's no common area to chill apart from the restaurant area which can get busy. The rooftop area is full of beds (they made it a dorm actually ) and laundry, so no place where to sit and enjoy the view they talk about. Is a business hostel, they don't care that much about the service provided, it is more about how many people can fit in any available place eveen if the capacity of services like toilet is full.

Verified reviewI extended my stay at WanderThirst as the place is very comfortable, feeling like home away from the home, almost all the facilities they have within the property & they are good at providing the facilities to the expectations of their guests. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, washrooms are clean, laundry facilities within the property, taxi facility they have, separate team with regards to all the hiking & trekking in Nepal, with regards all the information with no extra cost. Their restaurant has all the healthy options.

Rooms are clean & specious, beds are clean & comfortable, toilet & bathroom are clean, laundry facility within the hostel, taxi facility they have. The staff is very friendly & ready to help you out all the time. The food is delicious in their restaurant, they have healthy options at good price.

They have a cool bar, healthy food options at their restaurant, free information to explore, Nepal, Taxi facility at the doorstep, laundry facility at doorstep, clean washroom, clean room, comfortable bed, staff is very friendly & comfortable, they are always ready to help you out.
There is nothing to complain about, as I'm back here after exploring a nearby place.
