How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Staff were amazing and were so helpful. I had a family emergency and needed to return home quickly. They organised everything and had me in a taxi to the airport within the hour with a flight ticket in my hand. They even kept in touch through my 26 hour return journey to make sure everything went ok. Thank you so much 🙏

It was perfect location. The staff were super friendly and really helpful with advice. The room was basic but had everything you would need. Perhaps the addition of a safe in the room would be good. Other than that it was really good value for money and we would stay again :)

When we are in KTM we always stay in this cozy,very clean and friendly place. Perfect location, comfortable Beds, hearty breakfast,hot showers and helpful friendly staff makes it for it’s price a great deal. We will come back again!

The pictures of the interior design are more beautiful than the reality.

My friends and I (a group of five) had an exceptional stay at Sacred Boutique Hotel in Thamel. The room was spacious enough to accommodate all of us comfortably and was cozy and spotless. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, even assisting with money exchange. The hotel’s peaceful ambiance, prime location, and outstanding service make it a perfect choice for anyone visiting Kathmandu. Highly recommended!

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Sacred Boutique Hotel! Everything was perfect from start to finish—the room was cozy, beautifully decorated, and immaculately clean. The location was ideal, and the atmosphere was so welcoming. What really stood out, though, was the family-run nature of the hotel. I like the staff here, they were so friendly and helpful !! :) This is our first time visiting Nepal so we need help with a lot of things like booking a tourist bus etc, and they are always ready to help us. The breakfast is also good. Will surely staying here again in my next visit to Kathmandu 🫶

Very nice hotel with clean and comfy rooms and great personal at the reception. They let us leave our things on the reception for the time of our trek to himalayas. They have very good breakfast and also laundry service works excellent

The toilets were dirty and seemed the cleaning is not done thoroughly in every bathroom everywhere in all hotels

After cleaning the stairs, it was very wet and slippery. A warning sign would be of help!
The airport shuttle was well arranged (even though I arrived way later than indicated). I was very friendly welcomed by the driver and receptionist. The room was spacious, and aligned with my expectations. The breakfast was nice, especially with the barista coffee included. I asked for a last-minute yoga class and was provided with a contact I could reach out to. Roof terrace was nice!

Exceptional location- in the heart of Thamel, Kathmandu and very professional and smiling staff!! The front desk has been really helpful especially the manager who was pleasantly available all the time! I’ve been stayed again with a different booking during my holidays! Awesome experience!! I’ll definitely try to stay again in my next visit to Kathmandu.
It’s worth more than I spent. Prime location, pleasant staff and amazing breakfast.
