Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandThe rooms with courtyard view are not good. Courtyard is a messy backyard, no nice view. Bathroom is inadequate, to shower you need to stand squashed between the toilet and basin. The rooms with stupa view are lovely.
Friendly helpful interesting host and his wife was excellent cook. Good breakfast with variety. A quiet place in middle of busy noisy Kathmandu.

ChinaI spent three wonderfully warm and pleasant nights here. Shailendra and his wife were gentle and kind, treating me like a dear elder and a long-lost friend. I cherished the breakfast time every morning. They welcomed me like family. Sitting by the balcony, savoring the delicious breakfast they prepared, watching the view, listening to the birds sing, and sharing unhurried conversations—this was exactly the meaning of my trip. Walking out from the hotel, there are many cafés nearby. A little further, you’ll find bookstores, supermarkets, and the beautiful traditional architecture of Patan. Compared to other areas of Kathmandu, Patan feels more peaceful and perfect for leisurely strolls. As a woman traveling alone, I felt very safe here. This place has left me with beautiful memories of Kathmandu. May we all enjoy life to the fullest in our own corners of the world. See you again.

PolandShailendra-ji, who manages the hotel, truly makes it a special place. Shailendra-ji is highly professional and always ready to help. The location is excellent — just a short walk from the beautiful historic centre of Patan. We warmly recommend this excellent hotel. We've attached a photo we took from the hotel’s terrace. FranceEverything was perfect.
This is the perfect place to stay in Patan, which BTW is much better than Kathmandu/Thamel in my opinion. The view onto the water tank with the temple and the stupa next to it is breathtaking! And Shailendra and his wife are incredibly nice and friendly. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, and you can have bottled water whenever you want from downstairs. I had the most delicious chick pea curry for breakfast in my life! I am very happy to have chosen this place.

United StatesOnly problem for me was my room hotpot to make tea did not work but a community one was available in the common kitchen on 4th floor.
My room (21) was so nicely laid out and cozy. The bed, including a warmer-big plus, was fabulous. Great hot shower in a nice bathroom. The room has a view of the square and was perfect for people watching. The upper level terraces overlooking the square/pond/stupa was a very nice outdoor space for breakfast or anytime. The breakfasts are outstanding and fill you up proper for a great day of sightseeing. The host and hostess are more than congenial, willing to help with directions, getting transportation and general advice. A really lovely family.

United StatesA picturesque, warm-hearted guesthouse with a wonderful location and kind service. Set on Pimbahal Pond, it’s both quaint and full of activity — old and new. Giving a lovely illustration of what makes Nepal so unique. The host was most kind and thoughtful. He helped make the place special. My sister had injured her leg before arriving, and the staff were incredibly helpful and flexible in taking care of her - moving her to a room on a lower floor and delivering food. A guesthouse I’d recommend to anyone who wants to get a sense for what makes Nepal, Nepal

AustraliaGorgeous terrace and beautiful view overlooking Krishna Temple and Stupa. Run by gorgeous who gave so much advice and helped us. Breakfast was delicious, made vegan for us. Surprisingly quiet at night, but lot of action and things going on below. Great spot to do walks around the old city and the mountain views were all around. We did yoga from the highest terrace, which was almost the highest point. Highly recommend staying here.

BangladeshThe neighbourhood can get quiet very early. If you’re returning late everything nearby will likely be closed.
The neighbourhood is very charming, and the accommodation has a cozy vibe. It’s a peaceful spot, but walking distance to the Patan Durbar Square. There’s a lot of good food within walking distance and the breakfast at the hotel is also great. The owner Shailendra is very knowledgeable and up for a good conversation.
