How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewIt was simply magical, lovely and out of this world experience. I was recieved at Peace Budha park, listened to wonderful flute, had a lovely dinner prepared with love and care. At night along with hosts and another guest we had wonderful chats. I felt so relaxed like at home. Morning with clouds, food prepared from the Garden and wonderful talks. I have been to 62 countries but I must say, it's one of my best experiences. Highly recommended..

Verified reviewThis place is a wonderful gem. Shanta is such a pure person, kind and loving, from the first day l arrived she said “Sister this is your home”, and it really was. I had a big room, with an amazing view on the valley. Peaceful sleep while raining outside. Bathroom is outside not an issue at all. Shanta always asks what food l want and she prepares with the organic veggies from the garden. All day she offers tea. I came here for a couple of nights and l am staying for a week. Also next door is Brahma Kumaris center, l go there for meditation. All so grounding.

Verified reviewPramila and Shanta were so kind, generous, and accommodating. Most of the food they cook comes from their garden and is so wholesome and delicious (I was welcomed with fresh-picked plums!). As a solo traveller, it was also really nice to speak to them, get to know them, and spend time with them. The view from their home into the valley is stunning and sunsets are gorgeous. It was also easy to walk a bit on the road to find hiking paths to Nagarkot View Tower and to the jungle behind Nagarkot village (it showed up as Kusum Jungle on one of my maps). Everything was clean and neat. They also use purified water so you can refill your bottle / make tea.
Nothing I didn't like! Just note that it is a rustic homestay. Everything was clean, neat, and organised, but basic! Not an issue at all, just creating realistic expectations :)

Verified reviewThe hosts are such lovely people which made us feel right at home. They cooked a great dinner and breakfast for us and played games with us, which was very fun. Their house has a cute garden with all kinds of crops planted in it and has an amazing view, as well as is located further outside the centre of Nagarkot so it was very peaceful and quiet. Room and amenities were basic but you get a lot more in return :)

This homestay is well maintained, clean and with all basic necessities. Verified reviewShanta was a lovely host and made sure I was well taken care of. You can pay an extra 200 per meal to add breakfast and dinner which is very reasonable for delicious homecooked goodies. Things were clean and the view great. I would come back.

Verified reviewThe Homestay is in an absolutely beautiful part of the country just outside Nagarkot. The facilities are fairly basic, but that means nothing because of the extraordinarily peaceful atmosphere that exists and the generosity and kindness of Shanta, my host. My stay with Shanta will stay with me forever. I just loved it.
Nothing

Verified reviewI had a really peaceful stay at Sisters Homestay. Shanta took great care of everything, made amazing chai, and cooked delicious food—aloo paratha for dinner and buckwheat pancakes with omelet and bananas for breakfast. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for some peace, nature, and beautiful mountain views!

Pramila and Santa are the heart and soul of this guesthouse, radiating warmth, kindness, and a rare, genuine hospitality that makes you feel instantly at home. Staying here is not just about accommodation—it’s an experience. Their generosity, openness, and care create an atmosphere that is both peaceful and deeply fulfilling. The house itself is beautiful, set in a serene location far from the chaos of Kathmandu, allowing for true rest and connection with nature. Every conversation, every shared meal, and every smile made our stay unforgettable. If you are looking for a place that nurtures both your body and your soul, this is it. Verified reviewSo much love from the sisters. They are the most welcoming people I've met. The house and rooms are basic, but that's exactly what someone needs to experience the overflow of kindness that the sisters radiate. I planned to stay one night, and left, but came back the same day, because it felt like home very quickly. Thank you so much Sisters! All the best and luck for both of you <3
Nothing. And if there was something, the sisters would facilitate me in learning how to deal with it with compassion :)

Verified reviewWonderful, open-minded, warm-hearted hosts, they welcomed us as family, from the first minutes we felt like home. They are excellent cooks, the dishes they prepared were absolutely delicious (for very generous price..) and even taught us how to prepare them, as we were interested. They accompanied and guided us on our treks and played music and sang for us in the evening. We are very grateful for the time we spent together! If you are open to get to know wonderful people and privacy is not the most important aspect for you, if you prefer a simple way of life, close to nature over luxury and comfort, than choose their home when you visit Nagarkot!!

Verified reviewThis place was like a home in a different country. Pramila and Shanta didi were so humble and took great care for the day I stayed there. Even Pramila didi took me to roam around the places in her scooter to see the scenic beauty of that area, taught me to hitchhike and we shared a lot of stories. We even played cards at night. The food was delicious and the place was spot on clean with a scenic view.
I actually liked almost everything.

Verified reviewSisters Homestay is an excellent place to chill, rewind, and to experience the amazing Nepalese hospitality. Shanta is the best host, she is kindhearted and generous, and she really goes above and beyond to make sure everyone feels at home. She is a brilliant cook, teacher, and host. The house is located in a peaceful valley overlooking the mountain range of Langtang. It is quiet, and the air is fresh and clean. The delicious homemade food is gonna make you gain weight. This is the proper Homestay experience, so don’t expect private bathroom or modern conveniences. This is the best Homestay experience in our 6 months of travelling. Thank you, Shanta, for your good heart.
