Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaIt's a bit far from town and transport is not always easy or super-cheap. No professional birdwatching guide despite the manager's pedigree in birding.
The villas are mostly spread around the small pond which is a nice setting, many birds around the property itself, restaurant is decent with good wine options. Away from the masses.

AustraliaThere was nothing I didn't like
The food was delicious, the grounds a delight, we watched a rhino in the park while we were eating our lunch on the terrace, elephants & their riders were walking past the hotel down the road, kingfishers flying over the water hole in the centre of the grounds. The staff were so lovely and professional. Our stay was gorgeous.

NetherlandsSomewhat far away from the village and isolated. It does not give you the feeling to be in Nepal. We went to the village to see the sun set and have some food and drinks. This felt like an energy boost for us.
Very nice, friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and good food.

United StatesIt would have been nice if the hotel was within walking distance of Sauraha, local center of the tourism action, but the hotel was happy to call a tuk tuk, and at a cost of only $3 (US) for a quick ride into town, it could be considered part of the fun. I also missed having an in-room safe, although it’s really not essential here since the entire property is walled and guarded.
The property was beautifully designed, finished, and maintained for luxury safari accommodations. All luxury amenities are provided, staff were kind and accommodating, WiFi was strong throughout the property, food at the restaurant was very fresh and delicious, rooms are generously sized and comfortable (as are the beds!), and the tropical-style pool was wonderful. The property is eco friendly with home grown fruits and vegetables, the pool recycles its water, the landscaping is tropically lush with indigenous plants abutting the meandering stone walkways, each room is a free-standing Nepali-style structure that blends into the landscape, the furniture is locally designed and made, and the individual buildings reflect local building traditions and use high-quality materials including stone floors, and rough hewn wood walls. My bathroom was elegant with high-end fittings and fixtures, and was spotlessly clean. Staff is happy to arrange full or half-day safaris with elephants, jeeps, canoes or walking at a very reasonable cost, and the hotel sponsors periodic outdoor programs around an outdoor fire pit featuring local performers.

United StatesNothing really! Everything was fantastic.
Banbas is a hidden gem! From the moment I arrived, I felt like I was stepping into the national park. The property is right outside the national park, but it genuinely feels like part of it. The pond and wetland are teeming with life—100+ bird species, fish swimming around (a staff noted that fish are fed with waste food from the hotel kitchen!), and even a waterfall in the pool area. It’s so peaceful! The rooms are villa-style, super comfortable, and have amazing views of the pond. I loved the Tharu-style artwork in the decor—such a nice touch that celebrates local culture. The property is also wheelchair-friendly, which I really appreciated. The staff was fantastic—welcoming me with drinks and flowers at check-in. The food was a perfect mix of local and international dishes, and everything felt thoughtfully curated. Can’t wait to visit again!

GermanyVery good resort hotel. Very clean and very cosy. It is near to the Nationalpark. They offer tours with fair prices. The food at the restaurant is delicious. All the stuff is friendly and help if you had the need for. We saw a traditional dancing show which was very interesting. When we arrived, we got a small flower and a good juice.

United Arab EmiratesThe hotel was slightly far out from the town Center, needed to get a tuktok.
Wondeful setting, The resort is a couple of kilometres from the town in a quiet rural setting. The resort has been built to a very high standard, The main main of the resort has a spacious reception area, where we were greeted with fruits Juice whilst we checked in. We were show to a bungalow by very helpful and eager to please hotel staff. The bungalow was spacious and layout of the room was tastefully laid out. Swedenthere was absolutly nothing to complain about.
The resort is a truly gem. Tasteful architecture with respect for traditional building style and traditional material - all with refinement and that extra touch. The bungalows are all placed round the pond with a balcony facing the waterfront. The rooms are spacious and decorated with sal wood details. Lovely bathroom With all the comfort you can ask for. The rooms are cleaned and filled up with water, flowers and consumables every day. The pool area is a perfect place to rest after a long day in the Jungle. The garden around the pool area is surrounded with nice greenery and filled with birds and beautiful butterflies. The nature guides are very knowledgeable and likeable persons - wich I think is important when you are going to spend a whole day in the jungle. All of the staff is very helpful and friendly and you definetly feel that their aim is to make your stay something extra!

United KingdomLovely hotel setup with individual room ‘cabins’ arranged around the lake, with an abundance of birds. The room was spacious and extremely comfortable. Very attentive staff. Great breakfast and good food at the restaurant. Wonderful pool overlooking the lake. The location is slightly outside the hustle and bustle of Sauraha but easy to get a cheap Tuktuk to and from the centre. It’s a relatively new hotel, hence only having a few reviews on here, so don’t be put off by that!
