How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe wanted to see the Annapurna mountain range and Pokhara👁️ didn’t disappoint us. We were very lucky with the weather glorious sunshine, saw beautiful sunset and sunrise . One of the best places we have stayed in Nepal, so quiet and relaxed , it's not just a hotel it's an art gallery and perfect view of the most scenic mountains and valleys in the world - simply paradise 🙏🏽🙏🏽 The owner international artist Sugan Gurung, is one of the kindest person we have met , took time from his busy schedule to pick and drop us also had time to talk and engage with us on various subjects. All the staff were super nice, special thanks to Puran Gurung always cared so much served us really delicious meals. All vegetables are grown on the hotel grounds. If we get chance to come back to Pokhara this hotel would be our first choice and for longer period. Exceptional place and location. 🏔️🏔️🏔️
Nothing not to like!!!

Verified reviewThe hotel is situated far away from the touristy lakeside Pokhara. The view from the balcony or terrace is to die for. The common area of the hotel is like an artist’s gallery. Extremely courteous, helpful and friendly staff including the owner of the hotel, who is more of an artist than a businessman. Breakfast was healthy and very good. We had a wonderful time, felt more like a home stay than a hotel.
The commute to and from the hotel is something to consider. Room sizes are average. Storage is limited. Good accommodation for couples/ solo travellers. Hot water is just about hot enough to have a shower.

Verified reviewLocation was excellent, breakfast was good and the owner was very friendly and helpful. We were collected and dropped off after our stay. Potentially amazing views of the Annapurna range and Pokhara town.
We stayed three nights and did not have our room cleaned once, bins were not emptied, tea cups not cleaned. We had to ask for more water, tea bags and toilet paper.
Thankyou very much for your review and giving us chance to improve.

Verified reviewIt was incredible. A cross between a modern open plan hotel and an art gallery. We had the best room in the house with windows and a patio door on two sides with an incredible view of the Anna Purna range. We were exceptionally lucky to have clear, unobstructed views with no cloud cover.
Nothing. Once you arrive you are there for the duration unless you have your own transport. You can get taxis but they charge double the going rate due to being so high up the hillside and off the beaten track.
Thank you very much for your kind words. We are over the moon.

Verified reviewBeautiful view of the Himalaya and excellent breakfast. I really liked almost everything about the property 🙌🏼
There was just this disgusting smell in the bathroom which came to my nose right after arriving. The staff tried to help as much as possible - to sum it up I had to decide if I want to have the bathroom smell itself or a chemical lemon spray smell which really took over the whole hallway. Just not the thing you wanna decide about while trying to enjoy Christmas in Nepal 😬 After one night I was able switching the room and then everything was totally fine. Overall I can recommend this place as long you won‘t get the stinky room ;)
Thank you very much for the review. We just fixed the problem. The inner parts of the vase was broken. Thanks again for choosing us.

Verified reviewMost likely the best place in Pokhara, both in terms of location and excellent service from the staff. The view from the hotel is also stunning. The owner is a very unique person who takes time out of his day to chat and help you with problems that may arise. He even gave us a course in charcoal painting for free!
No complaints.

Verified reviewWe have been served by a dedicated & driven hotel staff whom we would like to compliment. He is Sankar Gurung. He welcomed us warmly on our arrival and showed us the various rooms which we could choose from for our stay. He listened to our requests intently and never failed to go above and beyond to check every single detail for us (even without our ask). For example - 1) he helped us arrange a taxi to the city centre and took the initiative to negotiate the taxi fare, 2) he explained to us that breakfast was included when we had forgotten. The hotel is located at the top of a hill and hence the views, both at day & night time, were spectacular. We had a room with a grand view of Pokhara city (love the high floor-to-ceiling windows!) and it was beautiful to witness the sunrise. While the cleanliness in the rooms can be further improved, we are happy with our stay at Pokhara Eye as it was value for money and the hotel delivered to our expectation. It was also a joy to admire the several paintings done by the owner in the lounge & dining area.

Verified reviewExcellent breakfast and excellent services from the staff. You enjoy sunrise view and Annapurna range from your room as well from hotel terraces. You can just spent hours enjoying the magnificent view of mount Manaslu (Macha Puchere or fist tail) or watch it playing hide and seek with floating clouds. Hike to Sarangkot view point from the hotel is quite a challenging hike but rewarding to enjoy the Annapurna range.
It is a bit remote from city centre and Phewa lake side. Even the nearest point of interest Sarangkot view point is about 5-6 km away from the property.
