Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainIt was difficult to find, because Google maps sent me to the parallel street, but I called them and they came to "rescue" me. They said, they will put the poster with the name of the hotel in a more clear position
- The personal was very nice and even when I had dinner in the restaurant that belongs to the family, which has great views to the square, they gave me a discount. - I left my luggage there because I wanted to do trekking from Nagarkot to Dhulikhel and they kept it without any problem and didn't take any extra charge for it. But I have to aware you: as now tourists have to pay 2000 rupees to enter Bhaktapur, per day, they wanted to charge me again just to pick up my luggage. Fortunately, before I left I asked the tourist police about it and they told me it will be possible, but the people in charge of getting your money didn't agree with it when I arrived. Fortunately I came into Bhaktapur where the tourist police is, and they solved it by sending 2 police officers with me to pick up the luggage, and making sure that I would leave.

HungaryStaying at Namaste Bhaktapur Homestay was an unforgettable experience! The family truly cares about you and makes sure you feel like part of their home. From the moment I arrived, I felt warmly welcomed and looked after with genuine kindness. The room was the cleanest I’ve ever stayed in, with a super comfortable bed, tasteful furnishings, and a spotless bathroom that had everything I needed. It was clear that every detail was prepared with care to make guests feel comfortable. The whole place was wonderfully quiet, which made it easy to relax and enjoy my time. The homestay is located in the best spot in Bhaktapur, which I believe is the most beautiful place in the whole valley. During my stay, I was lucky enough to join the wonderful Gai Jatra celebrations, a truly special cultural experience that I will never forget. They have the best rooftop in the city, and I enjoyed breathtaking views over Bhaktapur and of the mountains in the distance. I am thankful to the family for hosting me with such warmth. Without a doubt, I will come back here again on my next visit. A perfect stay that I highly recommend to everyone!

Staying at Namaste Bhaktapur Homestay was an absolute joy. The family were so lovely and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The location was perfect for exploring Bhaktapur, yet still peaceful enough to relax after a day of sightseeing. Our bed was wonderfully comfortable, and the view from our room over the mountains was awesome. This homestay is full of warmth, comfort, and genuine hospitality. We left with full hearts and can’t wait to return.

New ZealandThe only thing I wished for was a simple clothes hanger stand. (Refer to pictures)
Great family run homestay in a quiet courtyard tucked away from the 'hustle and bustle'. Only a minute walk from Taumadhi Square. The homestay is within the ticketing booth cordon that surrounds Bhaktapurs' historical center. (Ticket is one off 1800npr: Remember to tell the counter operator how long you intend to stay, and it will be written on your ticket. The city is amazing and is worth spending a few days wandering the back streets. I stayed a week and used it as a base to explore the surrounding hills by bicycle. The city is not too busy outside of Saturday, when it can be quite crowded with locals. Namaste homestay exceeded my expectations. They are striving to improve the guest experience. The family has the highly rated Namaste Restaurant in Taumadhi Square also. I am looking forward to returning for Gai Jatra, a vibrant Newar festival celebrated on August 10.

IndiaA RO water filter system to refill water by guests would be an added bonus as I prefer not to drink bottled water due to excess plastic usage.
Everything was neat and beautiful, tucked away in a beautiful corner but near to everything you would like to visit at Bhaktapur. The room had amazing views and I could simply sit in the room and pass away my time. Would love to visit again and stay here.

AustraliaEVERYTHING about this place is amazing !! -The location is right in the centre. -The room is very cosy and the best quality. -It's all super clean. -The owners and the staff are so warm, welcoming and super attentive if you need anything. -The value for money is more than great. You won't find such quality anywhere else for this price. I booked 3 nights, but ended up extending with 2 extra nights. Simply because this place was far beyond my expectations....

United KingdomNothing - it was perfect!
Best place I stayed whilst in Nepal, hands down! Travelling in Nepal as a solo female for a month, I am so grateful to have found this guesthouse - I loved it so much so that I extended my stay from two nights to seven! The accomodation only had four rooms and is in the quietest little square but in a prime location - a 30 second walk to the main square and heritage area! After staying in Kathmandu and hotel-hopping, staying at Namaste Bhaktapur Guesthouse was like a breath of fresh air. I can't recommend it enough. Newly renovated, super clean, very quiet at night, so much natural light and a fan in the room made everything very comfortable. The family that run the guesthouse are the kindest people, too! Every one I spoke to was so sweet and helpful, always smiling :) My advice - if you are travelling around Kathmandu, stay in Bhaktapur at this guesthouse and make day trips to places (local bus is affordable or you can easily get around using Pathao scooter). Thank you so much for the best stay!
