Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

TurkeySome rooms look at the courtyard where there is a tiny ritual area that wakes you up as early as 5 am or 6 am, because people ring the bell after they finish the ritual. Beds might be too small if you are tall. My boyfriend is 1.80 metres tall and his feet hung off the edge.
The staff is extremely helpful and kind. The Hotel couldn't have better staff. The design is beautiful, fits so well to the historical atmosphere. The breakfast is rich and healthy; savoury and sweet items are balanced.

NetherlandsIt is good to know that the hotel is inside the heritage area of Bhaktapur which has an entrance fee. So don’t be surprised if you have to pay when walking around the area.
It is a very charming, (newly) renovated building. The staff is very helpful and sweet, a lot of them are eagerly learning as this hotel is a school and you can feel the wonderful energy of these lovely young people. The food was delicious, as it’s all made fresh it can take some time but it’s very much worth it and good value for money.

KazakhstanVery polite, good-natured staff. They will always be happy to help in any situation. The room is spacious, clean, with beautiful details. There were no problems with hot water 👌🏼 The only thing is that there was no hairdryer, but you can ask at the reception and they will give you one. Also, only 1 socket worked in the room, but they later brought me an extension cord. On the first day, I woke up late and didn’t have time to have breakfast and the staff easily prepared it for me. A small nuance is that after 22:00 the hotel doors are closed and the staff goes home. The guys then left the back door open for me if I was late 😁🫶🏼 On the day of departure there was a small problem with the post-terminal, which only accepts payment by Visa card, and I had a MasterCard. As a result, they walked with me to an ATM (in Bhaktapur they aren’t at every step), took a tour of the temple (behind the hotel there is a small temple where the goddess Kumari lives), treated me to delicious yogurt “Juju Dhau” (must try, it's the best yogurt I've ever tasted!) and helped me call a taxi (even though I didn't ask). What lovely people 🥹🫶🏼 In 5 days I was convinced that incredibly kind with big hearts people work here 🤍 I will definitely stay here on my next trip to Bhaktapur)

RomaniaThe location is not very close to the Bhaktapur's Durbar Square, but it's an easy walk to reach it. Even though the rooms are small, they are very nice, and the whole place feels like an ancient asiatic temple. The architecture of the building is amazing! There is also a school and a temple that run there, but as a tourist you won't be disturbed by it, you will be enchanted. The staff is very nice and polite, with a real interest to help you in any way. (A big thanks to Nikita). Even if we had booked two nights, we had to leave early and they charged us only for one night.

The hotel architecture is superb. It's like going back in the centuries but with all the comfort of the modern accommodation. The room is a bit small but very cozy, the bathroom is spacious with a superb shower tub. All the structure is very clean, and the location is fantastic. The staff is super kind and speaks very good English.

FranceThe staff was amazing. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. That would make sure that we have everything we need. The food was very nice and the prices are extremely reasonable. We ended up eating there a few times during our stay because of this. You can have typical Nepali or Indian dishes or choose a more European dish like pasta or pizza. The rooms are very cozy and typical of bhaktapur city. It is nice to feel like you are part of the city instead of staying somewhere that is obviously a hotel build for tourists. We had hot water everyday. Absolutely nothing to say. A very very nice stay and we will definitely come back !
