How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified review"Thats a River Lap Wing!" pointed out Sita Ram "Thats an Indian Golden Oriole......!" Sita Ram with an encyclopedic knowledge of Chitwan wildlife. I was just a novice bird watcher before I visited JWC. Now I am an Ornithologist with my 10 × 25 binoculars everywhere. The location of the Hotel is perfect and in one night we saw a wild Elephant, a Rhino and a Gharial.

Verified review"Thats a River Lap Wing!" pointed Sita Ram " Thats an Indian Black Hooded Oriele....!" Sita Ram has an encyclopedic knowledge about wildlife in Chitwan. "There is a wild male Rhino and there is a Gharial "a very endangered crocodilian)...." he observed and showed us. We are novices and he turned me into an Ornithologist. Now I am always looking through my binoculars and trying to identify different bird species. I have not met someone so knowledgeable about the local wildlife as Sita Ram. The Hotel is in exactly the correct spot to observe wildlife and avian culture.

Verified reviewLocation was amazing. The room was spacious had air conditioning & hot water... loved sitting on the shared balcony to relax. Hotel slightly weathered. Staff was amazing & helpful
Only one thing really. The air conditioner drained on the bathroom floor (so it always had a puddle) almost wiped out a few times.

Verified reviewTHE STAFF ARE AMAZING! Every morning we were welcomed with smiles from Sitaram, and no issue was ever to much. He would point out every animal he saw, basically your in house guide. The view is stunning, we saw rhinos and crocodiles from the restraunt almost every day. The rooms are comfortable, with good AC, and super clean.
Nothing we didn't like, but occasionally power would drop out but this is an issue all around Nepal.

Verified reviewGood location and next to the river with a nice view. The staff is very friendly and helpful, which made us feel very welcome. It is possible to book tours, safari’s and bustickets at the reception. The staff arranged a car to drop us off at the busstation for free, which we really appreciated since it was very early in the morning. Special thanks to Sitaram, who is a great restaurantmanager! He showed us the animals on the riverside and made sure we didn’t miss a thing! We stayed in the tent, which can get very hot during the day, but the private terrace in front of the tent makes up for it! Would definately recommed staying here!
If I have to name one thing: It is not possible to lock the tent

Verified reviewFantastic location. We had an amazing view from the balcony outside our room (2nd floor) but you can get the same view sitting next to the river at breakfast- saw elephants and wild Rhino and crocodile and loads of birds from here. Large room that was clean and had the hottest shower I had in all our time in Nepal. We arranged our full day safari through the hotel - we opted to have a guide and jeep (with driver) to ourselves (4 of us). It was a great day with a really experienced guide and we just walked down the river a bit, got in a boat to cross the river & the safari started. Saw a tiger! The staff at this hotel were super friendly and welcoming and provided a packed lunch for our safari too.
Fan in our room was dodgy and loud however we had an air conditioner so used that instead.

Verified reviewThere is free transport from the local bus stop to the hotel and the staff are very welcoming, especially Sitaram in the restaurant, who can't do enough to help. The buffet breakfast is good and plentiful, and changes daily. Our room was basic but clean with a great view of the river and the shower was powerful and hot. The location was great for walking to the main street. The highlight was definitely the riverside location where we could watch the beautiful sunsets and the elephants being bathed.
Nothing!

Verified reviewLovely location by the river which allows you to view wildlife directly from the restaurant (or bedroom window if you get a nice one!). Speaking of the restaurant, the manager is a delight, and the breakfast is quite good. The rooms themselves are spacious and comfortable.

Verified reviewThe location is perfect, right at the bank of river overlooking the forest, you can see rhino and crocs right out from your balcony. And hear sound of animals and birds overnight. Also the sunset is mesmerizing. The staff is very cordial and especially like to mention the Sitaram who assisted in every possible way. Perfect place to stay if you love nature.
