How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewPerfect location, amazing view of the river. Sunset chill with drinks. Friendly staff. Treehouse was dreamy! Owner helped us book a day safari. Delicious toasts! Unique common shower.
Not a con, just a note. Establishment was still in progress. More rooms/houses will be added. Will be even better in the near future!

Verified reviewThe staff were really warm and friendly and very helpful with booking tours for our time in Chitwan. The room was rustic as it was a treehouse but we slept well after our long safari! The food was also delicious and we loved sitting enjoying a beer near the river.

Verified reviewDharmik was extremely welcoming and helpful during our stay! We absolutely loved the unforgettable safari tours arranged by him with a very passionate safari guide, Bishner! After the long tiring days on the safaris, we enjoyed relaxing at the accommodation and admiring the view of the river. The freshly prepared lemonades and food let us enjoy our stay even more.
The outdoor shower could have better lighting.

Verified reviewA beautiful resort with a really chilled vibe. The setting is perfect, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the surprise of a pool was great. They also helped us organise our safari. Brilliant location and a really cool place to stay!
The beds are seriously solid - we even slept on top of the duvet they gave us to try and add some softness but after 3 nights my back was in bits. That’s really the only negative to the place!
Thanks so much for the lovely words! We're thrilled you enjoyed the vibe, location, and our team. And yes — we're already upgrading our mattresses as part of our expansion to make your next stay even comfier!

Verified reviewGreat location with beautiful river view. Lovely food and staff. Went on an evening walk with the guide free from the Hostel and saw a Rhino bathing in the river with lots of birds identified too, Would recommend for your stay in Chitwan.
Can be noisy at night with all the noises from the animals in the forest. Earplugs are recommended

Verified review- A beautiful location right by the river, - The owner and staff are welcoming and helpful, - Plenty activities available, often at a better price than elsewhere, - Be sure to Ask for Bisnu! He’s fantastic, - I did the evening walk, a full-day jeep tour and the full-day walk tour with overnight stay in the tower (I regret not doing the canoeing/walk), overnight stay : highly recommended! - The beds are very comfortable, with towels and mosquito nets provided, - The outdoor shower is great, - I would have stayed longer if I could!
- The food is slightly more expensive than in town, - Hotel guests, should have a reduction compared to town visitors ahah, - It would be great if there were mosquito nets on the windows to be able to sleep with the windows open

Verified reviewI stayed in the room with probably the best view: high up on stilts, with a fantastic view over the river and toward the park that could be enjoyed from bed. Walls and floor were of bamboo, so not mosquito proof, but the bed net served well. The temperature was comfortable (it was March) both night and day, so I didn't need the fan that was provided. My guide was very knowledgeable (and we saw a tiger!!!), and manager Dharmik was quite helpful in realising my photo-safari wishes. The butter chicken was very nice, as were other dishes.
Despite the great view, if I'd known how far it was down the rickety outdoor stairs and around a few corners to the loo and shower, I'd probably have chosen a different room. I'm older than most guests, and my aging knees and bladder were sometimes somewhat challenged...

Verified reviewWe love the Happy Lemon Tree. My husband and I stayed here 4 years ago and brought friends here this past week and are so impressed by what Dharmik has created! It’s a perfect representation of Chitwan—peace, earth, and community. The food is delicious the lemonade is spot-on, the views are spectacular, the outdoor movies and new pool are so fun, and the cottages are handmade from bamboo—simple and clean. I wish we could have stayed longer to relax and experience the whole property and offerings more! We will be back.
What’s not to like.

Verified reviewThe first thing that brought me to the Lemon tree lodge was the idea of a sustainable lodge made of Bamboo. So don’t expect fancy hotel rooms and traditional luxury commodities. This is an immersion in the nature, nicely integrated to the surrounding of the National park. You have everything you need, beautiful rooms, super clean toilettes (I loved the outdoor shower), beautiful food, relaxing vibes far from the noisy touristic street and the view by the river is just unbelievably stunning. From sunrise to sunset you breathe Chitwan’s magical atmosphere. Loved the safari both in jeep and on foot. The guides know the area well and they really make sure you have a safe and great experience in the jungle.

Verified reviewCool place really above the river with good and chill vibes to take a rest in nature. Food & beers excellent!
We heard some animals running on the roof during the nights due to the close river fauna. Restroom not so clean.
Hii Alex Thank you for your kind words about our chill vibes, great food, and beer! We’re glad you enjoyed the riverside setting and its connection to nature, including the wildlife. We’re sorry the restroom cleanliness fell short of expectations. Your feedback is invaluable, and we’ll work on improving this immediately. We hope to welcome you back soon for an even better experience! Warm regards, Dharmik Happy Lemon Tree Lodge
