How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewFamily members running the place are wonderful people! Super kind, nice, and helpful.. The location is great, it's a short hike up the hill and it's accessible by bike, though you can see the whole lake and see the jungle nearby and the fields. The rooms are clean and the meditation room is open for guests, it was so relaxing and nice being there

No view from house. It's just like four wall. And owner on arrival to room they interchanged the room ,they given my booked room to others. So Don't book online. When you travel , it's better to book offline to other homestay where you like

Verified reviewI had one of the bigger rooms that came with a shared terrace with a beautiful view. Peaceful location and great and helpful host family. Very fun and friendly people! You can also order food here. Great value for money.
The location is a bit far from town and the road is currently under construction - which is great, if you are looking for something a bit remote. Otherwise you can hike down to the main road via a scenic shortcut and take a bus or InDrive to town for very little money. The fare back is bigger in the evening and the scooter taxi drivers aren't always happy about the long bad road in the dark (and cars currently have to make a long detour to even get there). If you'd like to save some money and are alright with a nice little evening hike, you can just get a drive to where the smaller road starts and walk from there.

Verified reviewThere’s no words to describe the happiness I felt in that place; the views of the lake and mountains are magical, so it’s the connection with the lovely family who takes care of this beautiful home. You will be lucky if you get to stay there! They cook the best Nepali food with fresh and organic vegetables from the garden and everything is delicious.

Verified reviewIt’s a beautifully located place, far away from the city buzz. Perfect place if you want to escape and stare at the lake for a long time. It’s an adventurous way to get there, very bumpy road. The hosts are lovely!
Can’t rely on hot water :) and the walls are thin so take some earplugs if you are sensitive to noise.

Verified reviewGreat location to get away for a few days. 30 mins walk down the hill from nearest cafes and restaurants. 1 hour walking from Pokhara (or 30 min walk and 10 min bus). Friendly family. Easy to walk up into the mountains. Great views. Friendly hosts. It's more a place to get away from it all and relax.
Beds are hard and it is basic and no frills. Great for a retreat or to get away from it all, but don't expect luxury.

Verified reviewThe cottage is located in the Sedi village about 5kms from Hallan chowk. It has a great view of Fewa lake and quite far away from the crowded Lakeside hotels and restaurants
The access to the hotel isn't great. It isn't a hotel for family or anyone doing solo if they don't have a vehicle capable of off roading as the road (street 9/18) is broken and still getting properly flattened

Verified reviewBeautiful location in nature. Quiet. Yoga space, sound healing and other holistic practices available on request. Family members who run the Homestay were so kind and hospitable, genuine and kind souls. Offered breakfast every morning included in price of room. We took an apartment space so we could cook. The road up can be tricky, so be aware as we rented a scooter and a motorbike would have been better.
The fan was so loud

Verified reviewThe views from here are superb over the lake. It is in a peaceful, rural location away from the tourist area and if you want to get away the tourist trap and feel a more authentic Nepalese experience, this is for you. The place might not be The Hilton, but the owners are kind, helpful and sweet.
If you value convenience over authenticity, this is not for you. It is a bus ride from lakeside, and then a 20-30 minute walk up a steep, rocky and dusty track. And if you return after dark, you better have a decent torch with you if you're walking. If however you're desperate to escape the fakery of the touristic lakeside, want peace and quiet, want a stunning view over the lake and being greeted by a kind and welcoming family, you should certainly consider staying here.

Verified reviewThis homestay was very special. We felt welcomed by the host family from the moment we arrived. Also food was delicious, with homegrown organic vegetables. We had an apartment with stunning views of the lake and hills. The owner, Bimal is licenced mountain guide, he arranged both permits for as in advance , sent us confirmations to email and he guided us to ABC and back. I highly recommend this beautiful, peaceful retreat and all the services.

Verified reviewThe location is amazing, very tranquil quality with gorgeous views of the lake. If you are an independent traveller and want somewhere to hang out in Pokhara, away from the hustle and bustle of Lakeside this is it. Its easy to catch a local bus into Lakeside also. The family are lovely and you can join in with a yoga session before breakfast if you like.
There isn't a restaurant as such. The family are happy to cook food for you, but the timing will depend on them. Mind you my room had a kitchen, so it's possible to do your own.
thank u Gerard fro ur lovely comment
