How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

i liked the location of this hotel it's in main downtown but at the same time it's in a quite corner where we could sleep in a silent manner. the staff was very polite and accommodating they welcomed us when we reached midnight the little young girl over reception is extremely kind and helpful she made sure to do whatever we requested for . the bed mattress were super comfy .it's budget friendly and I will recommend it to all my friends who will visit nepal

- As a solo female traveler, I felt safe throughout my stay. - The rooms are spacious, though I did request a room change upon arrival. - The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. - The security guard was especially friendly. - The room comes with towels, soap, and a toothbrush provided. - Breakfast was good and satisfying. -The location is perfect: right at the entrance of Thamel.

I had a really wonderful stay at the hotel elegant kathmandu inn. My room was so comfortable , clean and had everything I needed. The staff were so lovely, helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was even included and there was so much variety, really impressive. Location was great, close to the main area but really quiet, i slept really well. I highly recommend a stay here and will be back myself when I return to Kathmandu.

Facilities ok. Staff (specially Mr Gurung in breakfast area) very helpful, professional and an excellent person. Location bit hard to find. Address wise they should give some nearby landmark.

Very nice hotel with good rooms, nice buffet for breakfast with fresh fruit and a lot of options to choose from, very friendly staff especially the manager, good location in Thamel, we enjoyed our stay and it was one of the best hotels we had in Nepal.

There was a slight odor in the bathroom, but I believe this is common in this area of Nepal. The hot water takes some time to heat up—I only realized this on my third night.
If I have the chance, I would stay at this hotel again. Most of the staff are very kind and genuinely care about their guests. Receptionist Binod is very nice always with a smile, and he even taught me to speak Nepali. On the first morning, I overslept, and to my surprise, the restaurant staff called to remind me about breakfast. Their warm and thoughtful attitude made me feel cared for, which is especially important when traveling alone. The breakfast menu changes daily, and I truly enjoyed having breakfast here. Every morning, I would order a cup of Masala Tea. When I returned to my room at night,I would always find two bottles of water placed at the door—a small but thoughtful detail in their service. The hotel has an elevator, making it a great choice for those who prefer not to carry their luggage up the stairs. The location is very convenient, surrounded by restaurants and small shops. There are also many stores selling hiking gear. The room was generally clean, and I slept well every night.

Amazing hospitality from hotel staffs. Everyone were kind and very helpful. I have stayed at other hotels in Kathmandu and it's very rare to find the kind of hospitality this hotel team provides. The services and facilities in the hotel were all very very good. Room is nice and clean. Food was great. Hotel has an elevator. Most Amazing hotel in Kathmandu!

This is a wonderful hotel in Kathmandu. The hotel is clean, stylish and has the most helpful and pleasant staff. From the booking till the end of the stay at hotel, the service was amazing. Breakfast was also excellent, with a wide selection to choose from. Hotel location is in the center so very convenient.

Perfect property with perfect service. I was offered a complimentary airport pickup service which was very convenient. On arriving at the hotel they offered me a welcome drink. I had some query about travel and trek, the hotel provided all the required information for free. Hotel staff were really kind and very helpful. The customer service of this hotel is excellent. My room was on the 4th floor. Hotel has an elevator which was very helpful. My room was of descent size equipped with every required room accessories. After 2 days, I requested the hotel to give me a room with private balcony. With some additional fee I was provided a big size room that had a private balcony. Another great thing about this hotel is the food they provide at the hotel restaurant. They provide variety of food items. I tried some foods and it was delicious. I will book this hotel again for my next visit to Kathmandu.

Everything was great about this hotel. I travel to Nepal frequently and I have stayed at numerous hotels in Kathmandu. It was my first time at this hotel and I was really impressed with the facilities and services they provided. Everyone is professional, kind and very helpful.

Amazing Property with amazing customer service. The property is very well maintained. Everything is organized in a professional way. The staff were very helpful with the query I had about places to visit in Kathmandu. I booked the hotel car to visit places in Kathmandu. I am returning to Nepal in April for Trekking and I am booking this hotel for that time too. I think the hotel will help me in organizing the trekking. I have to ask the hotel about that. If they can organize the trekking for me, then I am going to book the trek from the hotel.
