How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewIf you are looking for a busy, action packed resort then look away however, if you are wanting a secluded home stay where you can fully relax, surround yourself with nature and be accepted into a lovely family home then this is the place for you. You can walk down to the lakeside restaurants or lie in the hammock overlooking the lake and the whole Annapurna mountain range. I have never had breakfast with a better view, it was truly amazing to see the whole mountain range at sunrise. The Dal Bhat was delicious and it was a pleasure to enjoy it with Dinesh and discuss how the home stay was founded.
It is hard to get to given the road construction at the bottom of Begnas tal. If you get the local bus from Pokhara, get off at the Begnas Tal bus stop, walk across the road construction (50 metres) and then get a taxi from the other side to the house. There is not a lot to do in the area, so bare that in mind when deciding how long you want to stay and relax for. I think 2 nights is perfect.

Verified reviewEverything was honestly perfect! The room was really comfy and sweet, we got a little hut to ourselves with well functioning WC and wifi, comfy bed, fan etc. The property has a beautiful peaceful garden where we spent a lot of time - gorgeous views of the lakes and huge mountains. And the host family were amazing! Super lovely, welcoming and helpful, their sweet cat is adorable and the dinners they made for us were delicious ! We had an amazing time, plus the surrounding location is incredible.
No problems at all :)

Verified reviewThe place was in a peaceful location. Our bedroom was spacious and had nice furniture. We had some interesting chats with the other guests which made the experience.
Communication could have been a bit clearer with the hosts. We got offered a tea with our meal and then charged for it which we didn’t expect. Dinner is at a set time.
Namaste Ryan Thank you very much for giving opportunity to serve you and for taking your time to write honest review, yes we charged for tea, tea is not free, generally we don’t tell people tea is chargeable as most of the guests has understood it is and no one has complained about it we have not got good margins for food and drinks, we also have to buy tea, sugar, milk, and the gas and as well as our timing for preparing tea, the cost of every materials is expensive and profit is less than half percent, we also need profit for our living expenses, the taxes, children education, and as well as to meet our basic needs. Thanks for understanding . We hope to see you again in the near future.

Verified reviewNice and quiet location, if you wish to stay in a local village with nature and hiking, then this is your place. Dinesh and his family will help you with everything. I would stay in the deluxe double room upstairs with a private bathroom, that is super nice and it also has softer beds than the budget room.
Just to let you know, you need to walk about 5-10 minutes with your luggage to get to the place, there is no road for cars. But is it a very good walkway. Unfortunately the mountains had a very thick cloud cover the whole time we were there, so we couldn't see them at all, but I'm sure the visit is more enjoyable of you see the mountains while enjoying your breakfast. The beds could be a bit softer in the budget twin room. Also the room is very small, there is no space for luggage. We changed to the deluxe room after one night and it was perfect.
Namaste Dear Guests Thank you very much for writing such a good review presenting reality in a honest way. Sometimes to improve everything at a time, even we have desire to do so is difficult mainly of certain circumstances but we are always keep in mind to remove uncomfortable situation of our guests and proceed improvement step by step and create comfortable situation as far as possible. We are sorry you couldn’t see mountains due to bad weather during your stay We hope to see you again with clear sky and comfort in near future. Thanks

Verified review10/10 Homestay! Nestled in such a beautiful garden, the nature is honestly incredible (amazing view of the lake and mountains, colourful birds and butterflies, waking up everyday to the birds and insects singing). Place is a 5 min walk from a cute quaint village that has loads of goats, and a 1h walk through a forest trail to Begnas lake. The family are so kind, and Dipa she cooks the best banana pancakes and omelet for breakfast! As well as the Dal Bhat they serve for dinner (all fresh ingredients from their garden). I stayed in the mud house room which is simple but honestly so cute I loved it.
Loved everything

Verified reviewMy stay at Dinesh was better than I could have wished for. Dinesh and Deepa are wonderful hosts that made me feel so welcome and their place is simple, but very peaceful. The food was exceptional: the breakfast delish and the Dal Bats were sincerely speaking the best I've had in two months in Nepal.

Verified reviewIt's my 3rd time I stay for a longer period at Dinesh House. It feels like having a family. No resort or big hotel can replace the warmth and experience of living with the family. There are rooms for every budget. The dal bhat is one of the best you will have. As well as the pancakes. I recommend definitely the hike with Dinesh. But also the cooking class with Dipa. If you are looking for true Nepali experience then don't hesitate to stay there.

Verified reviewOne of the top places we’ve stayed on our 5 month trip, even though it was only one night it left a wonderful impression for us. It is run by very kind and welcoming family, and perfect for after our Vipassana course. They cooked a delicious dinner and took us to a local festival event, teaching us customs. A peaceful hill in Nepal worth visiting if near Pokhara.
