How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Old fashioned approach. Nepalis are given priority. Not at all child safe or disabled friendly, Great food but maybe pricey. One night stay max. Avoid their Heritage wing and take the Raniban Wing. Look for 505/6 or 405/6 for the best views.

Verified reviewI like the location and the staff were great. It’s clean and comfortable. I don’t think you can have a bad experience there, put it that way. The breakfast is good too. Views from my balcony were breathtaking
I felt the keys for the door was a bit old school. And some of the areas weren’t used much. Eg terraces which were empty but that’s probably because i went during off season so fewer hotel guests present
Dear latanya, Thank you so much for your kind words! We're really happy to hear you liked the location, enjoyed the views, and found our staff friendly. It's great that you had a clean and comfortable stay, and that you liked the breakfast too. Thanks also for your feedback about the door keys and the terraces. You're right—some areas can be quieter during the off-season. We’ll definitely keep your comments in mind. Hope to welcome you again soon!

Drinks a little expensive.

Verified reviewWe were near the end of a three week holiday in Nepal. We had enjoyed many adventures and wanted to spend a few days relaxing and enjoying the views of the Himalayas before heading back to the UK. We chose Nagarkot and in particular Club Himalaya and were glad we did. When we arrived Mr. Shankar, the resort manager, gave us a warm welcome and was very helpful in explaining the facilities available at the hotel. We enjoyed some excellent meals. My wife is gluten free and the chef came to our table to explain which meals she could have. In summary , we had an enjoyable time and, if you decide to visit Nagarkot, then we would recommend you stay at this hotel.

I didn’t like the low headroom on several of the stairways and hallways.

Verified reviewI loved the breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayas, the peaceful atmosphere, and the well-maintained property. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the staff was warm and attentive. The overall ambiance made for a truly relaxing and memorable stay.
While the overall experience was wonderful, I felt that some areas of the property could benefit from better maintenance. Additionally, the Wi-Fi connection was inconsistent at times. A bit more attention to detail in certain aspects would enhance the experience even further.

Verified reviewThe location was exceptional with wonderful views over the Langtang range of mountains in the Himalayas. Most rooms appeared to have balconies facing east and experienced amazing sunrises. Sunsets could be enjoyed on the rooftop terrace with hot drinks and grilled snacks available. The ambience of the dining room was traditional Nepalese and both breakfast and dinner were served in buffet style. The dinners in particular were exceptional with a large selection of delicious spicy meat and vegetarian dishes but with an a la carte option available for those that preferred. The staff were all friendly and attentive. All in all it was a stay that far exceeded our expectations.

Verified reviewClassic traditional decor, spotlessly clean rooms, great food choices, very friendly staff, and most of all - fantastic views of the Himalayas
Loved the place and will certainly be back , these are just things to be aware of: no gym or fitness center, indoor pool not heated, expect to climb quite a few stairs when at the hotel. We were lucky to get good views of the mountains, but that isn't guaranteed if the day is hazy.

Verified reviewThe property is well organised, maintained, and secured. Every edge is fenced and well protected. The children's play section, especially the corners and floors, are covered with soft carpets. There are ramps along with the stairs that make it more accessible for people who need it. The corridors and dining hall have glass shields that protect us from the harsh and cold winter wind. The quality of the toiletries were super good, it was the first time we used shampoo and body lotion provided by any hotels. The staff were amazing people, they always extended their hands to assist us in making our stay comfortable. Thank you.
Everything was good to go except the construction noises.
