How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe little apartments are very practical with a kitchen, en-suite, bedroom and outdoor terrace. The staff are all lovely and very helpful giving a family feel to the apartments. The hotel is handy for the stupa and transport links and excellent value for money.

Verified reviewNot far from Boudanath Stupa. Very good bakery with sourdough bread options close by. Hot water available for shower.
We were on the ground floor and people were passing a lot by our window. We arrived tired in the afternoon after looong travels and were told to wait for them to clean the room first before check-in. I am tall and had to sleep diagonally in the double bed because the wooden bed part at the foot end of the bed was quite high - can be a challenge for tall people.

Verified reviewAccording to the photos on booking, I was expecting an apartment upstairs. It was on the ground floor. Lot of circulation of people around just next to my windows. Even if some of them were tinted, I felt like I had no privacy. Especially since the chassis are not hermetic and not closing properly, lot of noise from the street is coming right inside. On the positive side,I shared these issues with the owner who was sorry and promised to take action to fix the windows. If you are staying here and care about your privacy, ask for a room upstairs. The kitchen was okay but some of the dishes were dirty. When there's a kitchen, I'm expecting there are also things like dish soap or salt at disposal because it makes no sense to buy it even in small packaging given the low quantities used in a few days. But there were not. I left some for future occupants. Bathroom was very good, bed was comfortable and the sheets were soft and clean.

Verified reviewNice place with nice people!! Apartments are big and clean with everything one needs. From the rooftop one can see Boudhanat Stupa which is just 10 minutes walk away. On clear weather you can also see some montainpeeks. I will come again!

Verified reviewThe location and view are really good. The lovely and hard-working housekeeper left a really positive impression on me. She and her family fill this anonymous house with warmth and friendliness.
The flat is sparse but it serves the purpose and the price I paid was reasonable. The bed linen is washed by hand so there is definitely room for improvement in terms of hygiene, it is positive that there is a duvet but there were quite a few burn holes. There is a young dog in the neighbourhood that barks very loudly every night, the dog starts at 23:00 in the evening and barks continuously until 05:00 in the morning. Really loud and annoying. I also had the impression that this flat was a decoy offer for the owner's guest house, he tried several times against my express wishes to convince me to move there, which I found unpleasant. I also did not receive my change.

Verified reviewMinimalism and cleanliness are my preferences when choosing an accommodation. So this place is completely matching with it. Very thoughtful and kindhearted owner and personal. There is always hot water and the bathroom is quite clean.
It would be nice to have a link to a Google map of where the hotel is located. https://maps.app.goo.gl/fxa6A6aiytLDPieY8

Verified reviewNice little apartment, walking distance to the Buddha Stupa. Bed was super comfy
Wifi could be unreliable but worked for basic things. Water in shower only got warm, this could be due to days being cloudy when I was there.

Verified reviewThe location is really good and quiet. The cleaning lady is friendly and nice. The view from the roof is spectacular. There was a desk for work.
1. There are rats in the kitchen coming through the vent above the stove. On the 1st night they appeared, they ate my soap and nuts and fruit lying on the table. Later I occasionally met them running around the flat at night. But the owner just said "ok" to my message and offered no solution for this problem or any discount. 2. The doors to the corridor are like made of carton, with a lot of holes between the door and the wall through which the wind comes. Therefore no feeling of privacy. With all that, it was +15C in the flat in November. 3. There are no doors inside the flat, so you can constantly hear the loud and creepy sound of the fridge from the kitchen like in horror movies. So if you are looking for peace, you can't really use the fridge. 4. Ashes and litter constantly fall on the kitchen table through the vent, especially when a rat runs through it. You have to constantly clean it. 5. There was almost no usable kitchenware, no kettle, no usable knives, the pan was super old and food stuck to the bottom, etc. It's like you have a kitchen but you can't use it. Unless you go and buy everything. Probably travellers are supposed to travel with their own pans in their backpacks. 6. The wifi was slow and breaking all the time, unfit for work (I've lived in Kathmandu for a year, and I know it can be much, much better here). With all of the above, this room's cost per month was like two regular flats in Kathmandu. It's not that I'm strictly against rats, or +15C, or doors falling apart, or other rough conditions... But I haven't expected such problems for nearly 300$ per month. It could be such a nice place if only the owners cared or were less greedy...

Verified reviewClean and comfortable apartment with a very friendly staff. The kitchen is pretty well equipped and the location is great. It's Just a few minutes walk from Boudhanath and about 15-20 minutes walk from Pashupatinath Temple.
The neighborhood is a bit noisy, but it is in the heart of Kathmandu

Verified reviewThe hotel is located near the stunning Buddha Stupa. I have two requirements - cleanliness, it is present in everything, clean floors, clean bedding and towels, and silence, but in Kathmandu it is noisy everywhere. I really liked the staff, very responsive. Thank you for the warm welcome

All things in the apartment was quite old. Windows didn't have a net. Hopefully there was no insects. The main gate is usually closed from inside even in day time

Verified reviewGreat location. Fair size room. It is more like a hotel room with a kitchen than an apartment. The room I had was a studio but there was a wall separating the kitchen and bedroom. Which for me was perfect. I don't need a living room. There were a lot of windows which I really liked. There is also a great seating area and table outside which is great for reading or chatting with company. There is also a gated parking area which is perfect if you have a bike or scooter. Someone left a review saying there was no hot water, but I took a hot shower in the very clean and new bathroom. I only stayed for one night, but I'd absolutely stay again. I had a hard time finding the spot and the team walked a ways down the road to find me and bring me to the correct location. Really a great team.
I didn't see any shampoo. Maybe if I asked they would've brought some up, but I never asked and didn't really need any. You can see I had to dig deep to find a negative.
