Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandSome insects in the room, but the mosquito net was good, so it was not a big problem.
The location is amazing, just on the riverside. In four days I saw three different rhinos from my room! The staff is really nice and helpful, the food delicious. I did a walk safari with two local guides, Manu and Das, it was a great experience! Thanks to everyone!

Amazing place, kind people, beautiful views of Chitwan park and the river. Would love to stay here again!!! We saw crocs, elephants, and tons of birds right from the property. 15 min walk from town. Good food. Vegan options available.

ThailandNothing I didn't like. Only thing that was a bit of a pain was I had to tape my plugs into the plug sockets as they didn't stay in. Luckily I had some electrical tape so wasn't a problem but they could do with a look at.
I had a lovely stay at bamby chilling house. The location is incredible, it is on the river and was the most peaceful place I've stayed. I slept so well here. Town is just a short walk away but I ate at the bamby chilling a lot as I found their veg Thali the best I'd tried in the area. I will definitely come back and stay here!

CanadaBeautiful view, very relaxing, far from the tourist road. Good budget option. We booked the walking/canoe tour with our hotel, they gave us a good price for the tour and our guides, Manu and Sudash were very knowledgeable! Great experience!

United KingdomThe location right on the river was fabulous- surrounded by wildlife. Each bedroom Hut had their own little balcony looking out and there were plenty of seats around the property to chill out on and watch the wildlife go by. Although it is a more basic property it was undoubtably value for money and my room was totally comfortable.

GermanyThe only thing that was not as great as the rest were the rooms. The whole structure shakes if you move inside. The shower was not very pleasant and water went through the wall and onto the floor of the other room. Since everything else was great, we still highly recommend the accomodation.
First of all, the staff is amazing! All the people working there are very friendly and you'll feel at home in no time! The views from the balconies and terraces are amazing, fog crawling over the river in the morning, great sunset in the evening. Also the food there is very good! We ate there every day and were always more than satisfied! Especially their Malay Kofta and Coconut porridge are a treat! They are also very helpful with organizing tours and transport for a fair price. We did the walking tours in the national park and buffer zone with the guides Manu and Jitendra. Two very knowledgeable and friendly guides with whom we had two lovely canoe rides and walks in the morning. We saw multiple rhinos, gharial & mugger, deer, maquaces, lots of birds and tiger and bear footprints.

GreeceOk, there is no doubt that the location is the best of the best! There is not everyday that you can stay riverside in front of a national reserve (and at such a good price). Stunning sunsets and sunrises everyday! Sounds of nature (birds, etc) everyday, all day! Also, the room was spacious enough and there was always hot water. The staff was helpful and kind. The walking distance to sauraha centre was ok for us (we did it everyday). We extended our stay and really enjoyed our time at Bamby and sauraha in general! Downsides: the mattress of the bed was so hard and i can say it's the only thing missing for the total relaxation. They could have a Pos machine! We are on 2025 and international travellers visit the hotel everyday. Only cash payments may be a problem for some people. They could also have an electric kettle in the rooms, as there is nothing near to at least prepare a coffee or tea. Also, the menu is a bit overpriced compared to sauraha downtown places. Last, but not least, non clients are allowed at the hotel area and usually they make so much noise because I guess they are not in the chilling mood.

An amazing and unique location right on the river front - our room was basic but directly overlooking the river and had everything we needed. We saw animals from our balcony and the lovely riverbank seating spots on more than day! Also a very easy walk, about 15 mins, into town. The staff are all incredibly kind and helpful and went out of their way to help with anything we needed. We booked 2 jungle walks through the guesthouse (one in the national park and one in the buffer zone) and had very knowledgeable guides both days (Manu & Sudash and Maya & Aspen). Food also was delicious - we had breakfast, some packed lunches for our jungle walks and dinner and it was all delicious with plenty of options. We booked this place for 2 nights and ended up staying for 4, highly recommended!
