I come during winter and Kathmandu is very cold. There is a portable heater available, but the size is small in comparison to the spacious room. The hot water for shower also only works from 11am, because it only relies on solar panel. I think this is the challenge in Kathmandu in general.

The service is very good. The person who managed the place is very responsive. The room is spacy, the cleanliness is acceptable. So many cultural activities around because it is near Patan durbar square, so many marriage happening and we can see the dancing and singing from the window. Very early in the morning we can hear the women chanting the praying.

People wake up really early in the neighborhood making noise that can be heard if you’re a light sleeper - but quite usual in Kathmandu I think

Awale house is a simple, clean and comfortable room in a really nice area. A really good quality/price ratio to rest in Katmandu! The host is very nice, helpful and accommodating

no reception, hard to get inside, need to get in touch with the host, so he will tell the cleaner to open the door. Noise from the street - there are windows from both sides of the room. but we were so tired so it didn’t bother us. Mold in the bathroom, but that’s kind of a common thing. One day shower was lukewarm another day it was cold. Clearly they have a very small storage for water and if someone showered before you you are unlikely to get hot water - so the trick is to get up very early if you want a hot morning shower

I liked the room, it has a lot of light and the bed is comfy. The host followed my request to contact me via WhatsApp (because we didn’t have a local sim)so communication was easy. It’s budget. Great location!

Stayed there on two occassions, at two different rooms. On the second room which was located on higher floor than the first room, wifi connection was very slow. No problems when staying at the first room.

Spacy and clean rooms, located in a great location near Patan Durbar Square. Also host Ravi was helpful and always available. Kitchen and balcony at the rooftop were also a nice plus.

I wish there was a board or a proper sign on their property so its easy to locate. I used Google map however with the A4 paper sign on the main door it wasn't really visible.

The property is kept clean and neat. The bathroom was basic with good water pressure.The host was very comfortable to approach and communicate with who helped us even with my package delivery. The area is quite in the evening and morning though it's in a busy area.

Very nice place in a very quiet location. We enjoyed to stay there very much. The room had a table, so we could work online. There also was a kettle (we could make tea), and upstairs there is a kitchen if someone wants to cook his own food. The property situated on a quiet street, no busy neighbours, just dogs barking in the night. The wifi is very good (we've stayed on the down floor). We loved the host as well. He met us and took care of our needs, but was not intrusive. Nice! We are definitely would come back if in the area)

The entrance space could be better used. Nice living room, but not in use.

The best of the stays in Nepal (Katmandu area). It is a nice and calm guest house. Good kitchen in the rooftop space and city/mountain views for the sunset. We will come back here when coming back to Nepal!
