Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyI had to ask for the check in instructions thrice on two different platform to get them, even past the check in time. The property seemed to not care at all about my stay, they didn’t communicate the late checkout to the cleaning staff and honestly forget to collect my late checkout fee too. The shampoo and body wash in the shower were not shampoo and body wash but a conditioner and an after shower cream which was quite funny but also a bit frustrating The windows were open and there were no insect screens so the room was FULL of mosquitos and I didn’t manage to close my eyes that night which is very bad. All this wouldn’t be bad if the price wasn’t that high
The apartment is located in a beautiful house in the city center of amsterdam. The apartment itself is quite beautiful, with big windows, 5 beds, a kitchen, couches, it provided for an amazing stay. If you don’t mind about doing the property’s work for them you will have fun here.

United StatesThe room and the bathroom weren't as clean as the pictures on the listing and had extra furniture that made it feel crowded. There is a resident living on the first floor and therefore is using the kitchen for all of their meals so not all guests are short term. It was fine but that wasn't represented in the listing. The upper stair hallway lighting wasn't working and rooms had dim lighting.
The location was amazing with the canal view. Communication was good with check in. It was also pretty quiet at night.

AustraliaWe didn't realize that it is a shared kitchen/dining area. It does say it somewhere on the booking information but it's very easy to miss. Would be good to include that somewhere clearer. But overall you are paying for the best location and the views of the canals which are amazing so if you don't mind the shared area than i'd recommend.
The location and the views were perfect and the host who met us on the first day is lovely.

AustraliaSome uneven flooring and a bad odour coming from the bathroom. Also beware of the stairs with big suitcases, they are very steep and very small.

GermanyWe would have loved the place to be cleaner, and to not have the smell in the bathroom.
The place is in such a nice and living neighbourhood. Lovely to sit at the stairs and enjoy to sneak into the live of Amsterdam while having a coffee or beer. Or have breakfast / sit down and play in the kitchen.

United Kingdomthe property was up 4 flights of stairs, with the kitchen on the ground floor. It is a shared kitchen, with no freezer, no bottle opener, no can/tin opener. (Basics when self catering) With kids (3) this made eating a bit awkward when others in the kitchen. Cleaning staff were friendly, but 2 nights were enough here for family. The bathroom had marks all up the radiator- which did clean off when we cleaned - but hadn’t been when arrived.
The location was great. A lovely area of Amsterdam overlooking a canal. Lots of good local bars we parked at Park Bee Spiegelgracht- which was close by. Great sitting on the stairs people watching.

United StatesThe air conditioning was an issue; otherwise, it was a good location.
The location was excellent if you are looking to be near nightlife, which is great in Amsterdam.

IrelandIt should have been made clearer in advance that the kitchen was shared and on the ground floor (we were on the third). There are no tea/coffee making facitilies in the room. Also it was not possible to lock our room from inside which was did not feel very secure when there were other guests staying the floor below us.
Great location and felt like very authentic Amsterdam loft accommodation

United StatesCheck in process was a little convoluted, not only for us but also the other guests. Staircase is very narrow and steep, very hard to bring suitcases upstairs. Although it says AC is available, there isn’t .. they have a humidifier fan that leaks and doesn’t cool room at all, we literally roasted. Other than location, there was nothing great about this place.
Property was very conveniently located. R

New ZealandIt was very hot when we arrived and the little air con units didn’t really work. Travel light if you are booking here we were in the 3rd floor of some very steep stairs. Very typical of Amsterdam accom though.
The location was fantastic, great area for food and close to shopping. The space was clean and tidy and the property team let us leave our luggage until our flight which was a god send!

United KingdomWe feel like the lock on the code was not very safe, there was also no safe in the room to leave your valuables which meant I had to take them out with me everyday which isn’t great! (Passports ect) also noticed the passcode on the comments on these reviews so I feel like this needs to be changed as that’s not safe
Location was amazing! So close to the city centre and so much to do around you! Shops restraunts and the most beautiful canal outside our room! Host was really helpful and accommodating with our check in times, always in hand when you needed her! Really happy with the cosy apartment!

United KingdomNot the apartments fault but the noise from outside came through the windows a lot on a busy late Saturday night caused some sleep disruption but nothing too bad. Cant really fault the place anywhere else.
The canal views with tree lights outside the window, the character of the traditional building, it was a very clean apartment and a pleasure to return to after exploring the city , comfortable bed and good shower. Great host with quick communications.

United StatesStairs up to the room were narrow and steep. However, the problem with our stay was that it was extremely loud. While noise from the stairways and the other rooms quieted down between 10 and 11 pm, people in front of the building were laughing and screaming almost the entire night. Even with ear plugs we had difficulty sleeping.
The room was bright and pleasant with a beautiful view onto the Gracht. Breakfast was not included but there was a shared kitchen area downstairs where you could get coffee, tea and some snack food, which was nice.
