Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Kind owner, lovely rooms in an old-style building, so you get to experience the local vibe. Recommended 👍🏼

CanadaThe only thing we didn't care for was that our (sole use) bathroom was across the hall, but that's because the host was helping my husband avoid the stairs. And there were no other bedrooms on the ground floor.
Excellent location on a pretty, quiet street near some good restaurants and transit. The friendly host provided a great breakfast and was flexible about the timing. When she saw my husband uses a cane, she changed our room to the ground floor. She also chatted to us about places we might like to visit or eat at.

NetherlandsWe encountered a small problem linked to the cigarette smell in the room and in the house. Maybe for some people it is okay but for us it was really strong. However the lady was really nice and sprayed refresher in the room. Don’t hesitate to ask her help :)
The owner is really nice and welcoming. Helpful as well and the breakfast is really nice! (Which you have to book in advance!)

LithuaniaWe encountered a few issues during our stay. The staircase was quite steep and challenging to climb. The external toilet near the staircase was also somewhat inconvenient to use. Additionally, there were times when smoke from the room above drifted into our space, which likely depended on the behavior of other guests.
We enjoyed our stay at this guesthouse in The Hague. The hostess was pleasant, and she had a cute dog and a friendly cat. The guesthouse was very clean and had a cozy atmosphere. We could order breakfast, which was very good and delicious. The location was convenient, making it easy to explore the city.

EstoniaIt was a little cold in the room, although there was a radiator, which helped. It was also quite cold in the bathroom, but the water temperature in the shower changed a lot, it went too hot every little while.
Very sweet room and the stay was good. The host was lovely and I could leave my bag there after check-out.

NetherlandsThe house is a bit outdated and could need a reform. Especially the bathroom. The toilet is outside the room and a bit small. Cats are present when having breakfast.
Great place for a stay when visiting The Hague. Very central location in a pleasant neighborhood. The owner is very firndly, communicative and willing to give all kind of information. WiFI is strong and stable. Breakfast excellent. Comfy bed and a nice salon to sit.

A lovely Dutch house, with a nicely decorated room. The owner was really nice. We also liked the location, the centre and the beach were accessible by tram.

United KingdomThe toilet is separate to the room and accessed from the landing. The shower and sink were en-suite to the room. Not much the host can do about that, but a bolt on the loo door would be a good idea.
This is a small guest house in a traditional Dutch building. Nice breakfast, the host recommended Emma's Cafe nearby and this became our bolthole for a late evening drink each night we were there. Comfy bed. Not far from a tram to the beach

SwitzerlandShower room is bit worn out & needs reparations. washing basin is blocked & i could hardly finish brushing my tooth. Shower handle is broken & water 🚿 leaks at the joint. There’s water leaks out on the floor (catastrophe) every time after shower. As it’s an old building , if u are sensitive to noise when sleeping , not recommended as I heard the noise of the upper floor walking & people take the stairs late night or early in the morning
location , living room very cosy & quiet neighborhood, bed is comfortable

RomaniaThe toilet is private, but separate from the room and very cramped. There are some steep and very narrow stairs to reach the room. A bit difficult with bulky luggage.
Nice apartment in a late 19th century building. Very nice owner. Good location. Not central, but pretty close to the tram, 7 stops to the central train station. Restaurants and supermarkets also reasonably close. Very good breakfast. Only some vegetables were missing. Comfortable bed. Quiet. The shower had very good temperature and pressure. It was possible to use the refrigerator in the common room and to leave the luggage for a few hours after check-out.

United StatesI am very allergic to cats, there was no indication that there would be cats there. The room was cat free, but the breakfast room triggered my allergies. Also, while I like sleeping in a cold room, my girlfriend felt the whole house was kept too cold at 65 F (18 C). Heat is expensive, I get it, but it was chilly at breakfast for her.
Location was excellent for our needs, price was very good for last minute booking. Room was clean, bed was comfy. Very quiet room, No trouble sleeping. We had the 2nd floor room with the toilet outside the room just outside the room door across the way and the shower and the sink are in the room.
